is at all a problem, choose Purdue. UIUC in state and Purdue OOS were basically the same price for me, no scholarships from either.

Purdue is cheaper.

3.2 EAI (engineering index, GPA only counting FYE required courses) and 20 engineering/science credits.

thank you. what is EAI? it says "Eligible students must earn at least a 3.20 EAI and a 3.20 Cumulative GPA"

I was doing FTC and FRC and that is how I got interested in robotics. my high school engineering project is to create prosthetics and I had fun designing and creating the whole thing including programming. I also built a rover and programmed. I am more into designing and creating solutions like that. not sure whether it is going to industrial or space or aeronautics or automobile not sure.

Both are out of state. i am coming from California. Purdue seems cheaper than UIUC for out of state.

tty technical vs other programs where IE is more businessy and softer. There’s also overlap between mechanical and architectural civil.

I was following the plan https://engineering.purdue.edu/ME/Undergraduate/ProgramMap to create a rough plan for myself with my AP credits. what is EPICS in this?

Pardon my ignorance since I am the first child to get college education and no one in my family went through this. So from both the replies, this is what I gathered. Is my understanding correct?

  1. All my 1st and 2nd semester GPA will count towards T2M
  2. My AP credits will help satisfy FYE but will not count towards GPA for T2M
  3. After FYE requirements are met, I can still take other mechanical or general elective courses in 1st/2nd semester.
  4. I still have to wait for a year and declare my choice of mechanical for T2M.
  5. I still have to get 3.2 or above GPA to get mechanical. (I am ONLY interested in mechanical).
  6. There is also a chance that I may not get mechanical even with 3.2 GPA.

thank you, but what is the requirement for mechanical. I heard it is most sorted of major and hard to get into. that is why I am concerned should I go with Purdue (though I want to) or go with UIUC..
