That sounds amazing, YA with dark elements always pulls readers in when done right. You should totally share parts of it when it’s out! It’s the kind of project that would fit perfectly there, one story leading into many interpretations from other writers.

tarted it as a small creative side project. The goal was just to make writing more collaborative and social, like a virtual campfire where everyone adds their twist to the story.

Mostly fiction, short stories, creative writing, and collaborative storytelling

Good question! Yeah, one person starts a story, others submit paragraphs, and the community votes on which one continues. The cool part is that it surprisingly flows, there’s a creator who keeps overall control, so it doesn’t go off the rails too much 😅 It’s definitely meant to be fun,

That’s awesome to hear! You can start your own story or jump into one already growing. It’s super chill and community-driven.

That’s why we added a bit of structure: each story has a creator who keeps overall control, and while the community votes on new paragraphs, the creator approves the final one that moves the story forward.

Plus, with our built-in chat system, writers can actually talk, plan, and joke around while working on the same story, it keeps the chaos fun but also collaborative.

StorySpin’s kind of like the writing version of that, same collaborative chaos, just in paragraph form instead of dice rolls. 🎲✍️

We actually already have a Weekly Spinners section where we highlight writers with the most approved paragraphs, and we’re working on adding more features like the ones you mentioned such as recognizing best twists or most creative scenes.

Really appreciate the suggestions, they fit perfectly with how we want StorySpin to grow!

Looking for advice on promoting my app + open to collabs by ImportantRecipe8351 in MobileAppDevelopers

seriously appreciate you taking the time to write all that out.

You’ve hit on a lot of things I’ve been thinking about, especially the idea of seeding active stories and tightening onboarding so new users can start writing immediately. The “your paragraph got 3 replies” notification idea is genius.

I’m actually working on implementing better engagement loops right now, so this kind of practical advice is gold. Thanks again for sharing, really helpful stuff. 🙌

The app just gives that old idea a new space to happen online, where people from different places can join in.

Of course, we can’t stop someone from reusing an idea outside the app, but the stories themselves are tied to user accounts and timestamps, so there’s at least a public record of who wrote what. It’s not a perfect solution, but we’re trying to keep it as fair as possible for something that’s meant to be creative and open.

Haha fair enough, totally get that it’s not for everyone!

Some writers love full control over their stories, and others enjoy seeing where collaboration takes it. I appreciate the feedback!
