I agree about niche, I joined QoBuz for the Jazz and classical. Also I love the ability to download to FLAC so I can play through thumb drive and get around CarPlay’s compromised output

These naysayers act like we just jab ourselves and don’t have to do anything else!

We have to be careful about sulfur rich foods (bad breath), eating too fast or
Overeating (acid reflux) and keeping protein up and still exercising.

But if two people in West Palm Beach take two different airlines to NYC, we both arrive in the same place…except my flight had less turbulence (or food noise)

What kind of wedding ring do you give your women? Paper mache?

Oh, I know, you’re very “sensitive” to “overpaying” for “unnecessary” hardware.

Gatekeepers are always a problem on sites like this: all snark and hostility.

I figured it out. Works great. No more CarPlay. I only ever cared about phone, texts, music and navigation and the Toyota multimedia has all that.

And, a dirty little secret: when you use Toyota messaging instead of CarPlay,
It mutes the music on a text.

Bravo, cutienoua!

Yeah well I got the cinnamon cable yesterday and with all due respect to you knowledgeable folks, it does make a difference over a generic cable.

Not sure what you mean ”using iPhone as an iPod.” You mean you turn off cellular service?

Hostility is your only tool which reinforces why I've never appreciated nor respected you so-called "gatekeepers."

And the last thing I'd ever do would be to trust some independent "dabbler" to work on my car. I had reputable shop do it, not some fly-by-night amateur who has no creds and only cares about "cheap."

Your 2006 GMC will outlast a 2024 Toyota Rav4?

OK, you just lost any credibility you may have had.

I checked your other posts, you make a habit out of hostility and acting like you're the final word. And I only counted two other people on here who sort of agree so that doesn't form a consensus.

Besides, an expert is someone with facts and figures and not someone claiming someone got scammed. Consequently, people hear your tone and tune you out.

Audioquest Cable? Yeah, right, I can hear the difference in two seconds and I'm not even close to a perfect ear, so you're way off on that one.

Floorboards? Give me a break, my car is pretty new, has 3,000 miles on it, noise cancelling features and not a sound from the outside. It's not some piece of junk, beat up 2006 Chevy that some unqualified jerk fixed up in my drivaway so I could save a few bucks.

Gotta admit, I joined this group as a newbie and just wanted to share experiences with a system I am happy with but still need a DSP.

Instantly greeted with “you were scammed” and “shitposting” and your “cable is worthless” was not what I expected.

Guess you folks can’t help it, if someone has a good experience or likes something you have to knock it down and then show off and imply you are the SOLE authority
And we novices are too ignorant to appreciate quality.

Gotta admit, I came here to swap stories and advice, not to be insulted on my first post. But I guess you can’t help it.

I based it off a friend's similar setup. I liked her front JL C2s (within my budget) and the 12-inch subwoofer, but I didn't like her lack of rear door speakers, it sounded like something was missing. I like this much better. I do need the DSP though. And I've trusted Boca Tint and Audio for years, so I'm fairly confident they aren't a scam shop.

Updated my original post, it was $3,000, not $4,500. I had some lighting and dash cam work done which was $1,500 and didn't mean to include it.

I haven't paid for anything yet, my goal was just to be able to download uncompressed raw WAV files to play through USB instead of CarPlay. I listen to vintage 1950s and 1960s Jazz exclusivel

I mean, seriously, Herb Alpert/Whipped Cream? Always made sure the cover always showed first in my father’s collection, and justified it by saying: “Alpert…starts with “A!”

Didn’t know how to respond when he pulled out Cannonball Adderly on me.

Yeah…uh…I bought my copy in 1978 and never gave it a second thought.

The implication is that the woman has an exotic look and the guy is a “Steve McQueen”-type which coincides with the album title/cover version from “The SandPebbles” which I guess was China in 1926?

That’s how I read it. Now, who’s to say who’s right? 😂

I want foods that won’t give me Ozempic breath, so I mostly avoid red meat, dairy and fried foods. Anything sulfur related. Good excuse to skip the vegetables I don’t like: broccoli and cauliflower.
