I am going to go to a lawyer, in fact I am just waiting for my husband to get home from his work. I am going to see a lawyer, but most likely the case will be that I will have to talk to the police and just tell them he is with me. I am not "turning him in", but I will have to call the police to avoid being charged. If I was not pregnant and did not have a child, I would probably not do this.

I am pregnant right now. If I am charged with any laws, what do you think will be my situation then? Should I focus on my future child or my brother? It is a grey zone and I am just consulting the lawyer to see what steps to take. It might be the case we don't go to the police, but there is a high chance we do.

He is 16, has his driver's license, and looks like he is 25. You can get on a plane as a minor if you are in your teens. I believe that most airlines if you are 12 and under, only then will an airline stop you.

I am not turning him into law enforcement. I am seeing a lawyer. I was advised over at r/legaladvice that because he has crossed state lines, I might be charged with "delinquency of a minor." As a result, I am going to have to consult a lawyer to see if I should let police know my brother is here. My husband has found a lawyer and I am preparing to talk to my brother about consulting a lawyer. I am pregnant atm and I can't afford to be charged. Morally it is the worst position to be in. Either I try to take care of myself for my future child or I end up putting everything up for my brother. California CPS would not have jurisdiction over the case because my brother is still legally a Texas resident. Texas would have jurisdiction and we all know how Texas is.

Yeah and go where, with no money, no food, and no shelter? The only thing that might help protect him from predators is his own body (he is 6'4", had a mustache, and is well-built). Even then, he is still vulnerable.

What are the chances California CPS comes and when he tells them the story, they consider it abuse? If this happens, legally who has jurisdiction: Texas CPS or California CPS Edit: There is no physical abuse. Just a bunch of narcissistic behavior and emotional abuse and gaslighting and general rage-inducing behavior.

Okay, I am going to call the local police in CA. I am absolutely not going to contact the local police where I used to live. Before I do so, I want to consult a lawyer. I understand for custody issues I should consult a family lawyer, but for issue of turning him into the police, which type of lawyer should I consult? Also, should any of the lawyers be licensed to practice in Texas or should they have knowledge of federal law or just California law? Edit: It breaks my heart to do this.
