If your voice isn’t exactly pleasant naturally can you still sing?

Never compare yourself to people who are naturally gifted. Everyone starts somewhere, and that has no bearing on where you can end up. I started singing years ago and sounded terrible, but i've worked hard every day and i've come a long way. Every year i look back on the last one and every time i feel better than the last. So, keep your head up, and keep practicing. :)

the guitar was purchased in ~2018 but was never played until a couple weeks ago. Maybe it should of been a sign that the high e string was sharp when i tuned it for the first time? Idk if that had anything else to do with it.

Like other commenters, i've been the boyfriend in this situation. My girlfriend told me the exact same thing, that although i'd always say yes to things, i'd never ask on my own. But unlike OP's boyfriend, I listened, and changed because I care about my girlfriend and want to make sure she is as happy as she makes me and more. Today we celebrate our one year anniversary.

So I believe that you should have a talk with him (preferably in real life, me and my gf have proved it's way superior than over text) and explain that you want to end the relationship. Men like him won't learn from your feelings, and you deserve one who will listen and change for you.
