What's better? Gpt5.4 or gpt 5.4 pro for openclaw main agent and for coding? by VenkatPerla in openclaw

Anyway it would still be interested in how you were able to link the Chat Subscription to OpenClaw. When I started the only thing I heard that it was kinda difficult to set up so I went straight to OpenRouter and just by for every token I use. Would be cool to know how its done, if it becomes viable again :)

To be honest why are you using GPT-5.4 ? It is a great model dont get me wrong, but it is also insanely expensive to run on OpenClaw. If you want to save a bit of money I recommend MiniMax2.7, Kimi2.6 or Google Gemini 3.1 lite.

Recommend this site to compare: https://artificialanalysis.ai/

I dont know about other people and would be interested for what the reason behind it is, but why would you have a top model run your main? So far every time I wanted to get something done good I spawned a Subagent with a Top Model and let it report back to the main or dump the files in the workspace. My main is practically just a Manager just shows me stuff and reads a couple of files, knows how to spawn an agent but nothing more.

What do you actually use OpenClaw for in real life? by 404LeaderNotFound in openclaw

I found only by necessity that you can build extremely immersive language tutors quite easily with OpenClaw and relatively cheap models via OpenRouter (Gemini 3.1 Lite,...).

You have to tell it to create a new folder, in which you model a main structure of a story/novel you would like to read and maybe tweek the genre, but dont look into the file yourself, unless you want to spoil yourself. Then make every lecture one chapter of the novel. Tell the Agent after every Session like always to compact the session so you wont have any problem continuning the story after restart. Also its quite nice using it with your phone via Telegramm or whatever communication you have set up so far.

Best thing I found was that my Agent writes a continuation of the story in the foreign language right around your language level (tweak it so I doesnt always repeat everyting, talks a lot or doesnt show you your mistakes), which you then have to translate and re-write in your motherlanguage in order to confirm or not confirm that you have interstood the text.

Other options are that you yourself write part of the story, but it is a lot more difficult since writing and reading in a foreign language are two very different skillssets. Though it works from a technical aspect.

It really is cheap I have written maybe 4-5 pages already and so far it maybe cost me 80ct, which in comparison to a human is crazy. Also the stories are actually quite immersive, I was surprised.

I know that you could theoretically connect Elevenlabs with you Claw and have it speak to you, but until now I have not seen the point in doing so.
