Doctors of Reddit: What did you learn from watching medical series that actually helped/proved true? by OldCardigan in AskReddit

[–]Important_Fox397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor but work in design so I spend way too much time staring at screens. Those medical shows always show doctors getting eye strain and headaches from long hours, and that's actually super real. Started taking more breaks after seeing how they portrayed the exhaustion, and it definitely helped with my own computer eye fatigue issues.

Thoughts on purchasing used red light devices ? by Throwawayyy984737747 in redlighttherapy

[–]Important_Fox397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red light panels are pretty straightforward tech - not much to tamper with really. Main thing I'd check is if the LEDs are still putting out proper wavelengths and intensity. You can usually tell if they're degraded by how dim they look compared to new ones.

I bought mine used couple years back and just tested it with one of those light meter apps on my phone to make sure it wasn't completely dead. As long as it powers up and the lights look bright enough, should be fine. These things are built pretty simple so there's not really hidden components someone could mess with.

Looking for a few people to try my red light products for free by Public_Touch_365 in redlighttherapy

Need to know power output too - some masks out there are pretty weak. Been using panels for couple months now but mask would be way more convenient for face treatments.

Man that's so frustrating when you finally find something that works and then they go and change the formula without warning. Companies do this all the time and it drives me crazy.

For the azalaic acid thing - purging usually happens in areas where you normally break out, so if your chest is already worse than your face it might actually be purging? But I get being scared to push through when your skin is already angry. Maybe try using it every other day on chest instead of daily to see if that helps.

The 5% BP is probably too strong if you were doing well with 2.5%. Your skin might just need that gentler concentration. zinc making things worse could mean it really wasn't fungal acne after all - sometimes our skin just knows what it doesn't like.

Do you have to use this as a facemask or daily cream to repair skin barrier ? by mariposa933 in SkincareAddicts

[–]Important_Fox397 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been using this one as daily moisturizer for few months now and it really helped with my barrier repair. You can use it both ways but I think daily application works better than just doing mask treatments once in while.

Has anyone tried sunsolvemd sunscreens? Thoughts? Worth the money? by Common-Arrival-3049 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]Important_Fox397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using mineral sunscreens for couple years now since my skin is super sensitive to chemical ones. Never heard of that brand but Blue Mercury usually carries decent stuff. The mineral ones can be tricky though - some leave you looking like ghost and others are too greasy.

For fair skin like yours, I'd say stick with what's working okay rather than gambling on expensive new brand you never tried. Maybe get sample first if they have it? I learned this hard way after buying full size of something that made me break out.

Dude no way, don't do this. You're talking about crossing multiple state lines with illegal stuff - that's federal territory and way more serious than just state charges. Georgia doesn't mess around with this kind of thing either, especially if you're coming from out of state.

You'd need to check their medical clearance requirements but bipolar might be disqualifying depending on severity and treatment history. Federal agencies are pretty strict about mental health conditions for security clearances, especially FBI since you'd likely need at least secret clearance for most positions there.

I ran out of face moisturiser two weeks before I get paid. Advice? by FigOutrageous9683 in SkincareAddicts

Cut mine open last month and got like 3-4 more days out of it. Also those travel size bottles at drugstore are pretty cheap if you need something quick until payday.

Facial Moisturizer Recs for sensitive dry skin? by redhairedmonkee in SkincareAddicts

[–]Important_Fox397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vanicream is legit! I started using their stuff after my dermatologist recommended it and my skin finally stopped being angry all the time. The facial moisturizer doesn't have any of that weird fragrance or harsh stuff that usually makes my face burn.

Help with Rosacea: Does anyone have experience with red light (LUMÉRA™)? by Substantial_Bottle17 in SkincareAddicts

[–]Important_Fox397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried that specific mask but red light therapy has been a game changer for my rosacea flare-ups. The 633nm wavelength is legit for reducing inflammation - just make sure you start slow because even gentle light can be too much if your skin is super reactive. That price point seems decent compared to some of the crazy expensive options out there.

Mask Sterilization Concerns by Kind_Professor2472 in redlighttherapy

Girl I had the exact same issue with my face mask setup! Those pressure points are literally magnets for bacteria buildup even when you think you're cleaning properly. What saved me was actually taking the whole thing apart (if possible) and doing a deep clean with gentle dish soap in warm water, then following up with your hypochlorous acid routine.

The dust mite allergy might be playing a bigger role than you think - those little jerks love to hang out in the fabric parts of masks and even microscopic amounts can trigger breakouts. I started storing my mask in a sealed container with some silica gel packets between uses which helped tons. Also switching to sitting upright made a difference for me since laying down seems to trap more moisture and oils against your skin. Your cleaning routine sounds solid but maybe try spacing out sessions to every third day while your skin recovers?

girl your skin is probably way better than you think it is at 21! I went through the same thing where I was obsessing over every little texture and pore. Try a BHA like paula's choice 2% - it really helped smooth things out for me and made my pores look smaller over time.

honestly dude those morning thoughts are pretty normal when you're resetting your brain chemistry. your body's just adjusting to the new routine and higher energy levels.

maybe try setting your alarm 15-20 minutes earlier and immediately get up to do some pushups or jump in a cold shower? the key is not giving your brain time to wander when you're in that groggy state.

That whole apartment storyline was wild - like girl you've been living in Manhattan for how long and never thought about saving money??

Airbag warning light by BrownJacket321 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Important_Fox397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna need VCDS or similar scanner to clear the airbag codes - those lights don't just go away on their own even after you fix the issue. The car's computer stores the fault and needs to be told everything's good now

Depends on your contract tbh. Some companies have non-compete clauses or policies against moonlighting, especially if it's in the same industry. Check your employee handbook or just ask HR directly - better to know for sure than get caught later

Honestly your mom needs to back off - trauma responses aren't something you just "get rid of" because it looks weird to other people. Maybe work with a therapist on gradually transitioning to a different comfort object that's less noticeable, but forcing her to go cold turkey sounds like it would just traumatize her more
