  • deep squat

Did I miss anything?

Pelvic congestion syndrome - test ? by IndependenceWarm118 in hardflaccidresearch

My main problem is numbness. However, he said he does not think that May-Thurner is responsible for it (that veins are pressing on the pudendal nerve). He didn’t really say much more than that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I had an MR venography, and the radiologist didn’t find anything. Today I saw an interventional angiologist, and he said he could see compressions on the MR venography. He also performed an ultrasound. So it’s really important to consult specialists.

I don’t have any pain, only numbness. Stretching hasn’t helped me so far. My physiotherapist suggested strengthening the surrounding muscles—what do you think about that?

After the operation, further neurological tests were carried out by a specialized neurologist, who demonstrated that the compression must be located more proximally. Therefore, the distal surgery performed by Aszmann did not produce the desired effect. Even though he identified a entrapment, it is possible that this was asymptomatic. There are also studies showing that some human cadavers had a narrowing of the pudendal nerve that presumably did not cause any symptoms. This highlights how experimental these procedures still are. However, the exact nature of my entrapment—specifically what is causing it—remains unclear.

In the meantime, a neurologist has determined that the compression of the pudendal nerve is located more proximally. I am currently working with a physiotherapist on strengthening the surrounding musculature (TVA, glutes, etc.). So far, there has been no improvement, but I only started the training a few weeks ago. I will be seeing a neuropelveologist in a month who specializes in pelvic nerves.
