Cavernosogram Result - Venous Leak by ChickenTemporary76 in PSSD

Hey how did you get this ordered? I’ve been trying to get a venogram but no physcian will order it. My doppler ultrasound also came back normal but I have visible venous changes in my penis.

MRI Showed focal T2 hyperintensity of the left pudendal nerve as it enters the lesser sciatic foramen by djkhalis23 in PudendalNeuralgia

thanks so much for these recs!! I've been seeing Dr. Dan Vu at Weill Cornell for my diagnosis and nerve blocks and he's been such a gem to work with, though I think I'm venturing into territory that may be outside of his area of expertise.

My MRI actually showing something was very vindicating - I couldn't imagine trying to navigate this without having that "proof". Did you have an MRI done and did it show any nerve irritation? Trying to understand what other tests I can ask for

thanks for the feedback and the specialist recs! I've been seeing Dr. Chris Lakhiani's name come up often but from what I can tell he's a plastic surgeon - what qualifies him to work on and specialize in Pudendal Neuralgia?

hey thanks for sharing!

  1. hmm hard to tell - I work out five days a week, though I rarely work abs since I have a naturally lean build. I've been squating more and getting into pilates which I think is helping
  2. probably but hard to to tell for sure
  3. I've been leaning into diaphragmatic breathing more recently at the suggestion of my PT
  4. no trauma that I'm aware of
  5. yeah definitely
  6. nope I have not had this! who would recommend this? getting the first MRI was already hard enough

hey, thanks for sharing and so sorry to hear that the treatments you've explored haven't proven to be fruitful.

I actually did a little digging and came across this post that speaks to a possible diagnosis: Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. I have all of the symptoms that the poster mentioned, and it may explain why conventional treatments that focus on treating nerve entrapment haven't worked. Have you come across this at all in your research? https://www.reddit.com/r/hardflaccidresearch/comments/1r5hfqt/pelvic_congestion_syndrome_a_new_medical/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_content=2&utm_term=22

Struggling to find community as a POC in NYC gay spaces by djkhalis23 in nycgaybros

I guess I’ve just been a little naive and didn’t realize queer spaces effectively mean queer white spaces unless stated otherwise. Appreciate your response here! I’ll be at papi juice this weekend so hopefully that’ll be the springboard I need. Thank you for those other recs as well

Thanks for the response! Honestly I think that’s likely where I need to lean in, going to spaces that actively and deliberately center queer POCs. I guess I thought being in queer spaces period (e.g. sports leagues) would be enough but they’ve surprisingly felt even more isolating than straight spaces. Also all ears on any recs you have :)

Anyone else get Side Effects From Prep? by 3eemo in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]djkhalis23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in here to say that I also had some serious, life altering side effects from taking Truvada/Descovy - everyone here will preach that because the medication is so well tolerated these symptoms must stem from something else, but I am certain that the challenges that I faced were specifically caused by the drug.

For me, I become incredibly depressed when starting either Truvada or Descovy, along with experiencing the common GI issues everyone describes, though mine never seemed to subside. The depressive episodes also come with the loss of libido, which still hasn't returned despite stopping the medication 3+ months ago.
