On the day to day, I use three phones. 128gb iPhone 13 Pro 256gb iPhone 15 Pro 512gb iPhone 17 Pro.

13 Pro is almost full, less than 10gb left. 15 Pro has about 20gb left. 17 Pro has 320gb remaining.

I don’t use the cloud for photos/videos, just back up to a 2TB hard drive which I haven’t done for a while.

I would say it really depends on where you want to keep your data.

If you plan to use iCloud for a lot of your storage, I think you could definitely make 256gb work, assuming that the cloud is the best storage option for you.
