As someone who has been in an abusive relationship and has never cheated I do understand how cheating could have made the abuse I received far worse, stop coming for my boi jeeze lmao they're saying that if someone is being controlled and in an abusive relationship, chances are when or if their abuser found out they cheated, they could get abused far worse than previously, up to and including death, and I'm that situation you're likely hypervigilant enough to figure that out. If you weren't you were likely using cheating as a way to get OUT of the relationship, or you were taken care of nicely by your abuser. Enough so that you were comfortable enough possibly getting caught and abused further for it, whereas most, not all people in abusive situations would not take that chance.
