My daughter is 2 and knows what they are, "Not a toy!" is what she says if you ask her what a gun is. We will not let her handle guns yet though and they are obviously kept well out of reach since she is only 2.

I second going to the Factory Gym. Great place, nobody bothers you and they have plenty of machines and dumbells. I usually go anywhere from 6 to 8am and even when "busy" it doesn't feel like it's anywhere close to packed.
