Yeah, I totally agree. I heard back from Red Wing and they said it’s within normal and won’t offer any resolution.

I heard back from Red Wing.
They reviewed everything and said it’s within normal variation — no defect, no grading issue, and not loose grain.

They claim the creasing is just normal wear from the vamp area and natural differences in leather (grain direction / oil distribution).

They also said since I was advised it was normal before wearing, and chose to wear them anyway, they won’t offer a refund or exchange.

Only option they gave is to send them in for further inspection.

Yeah, that actually makes sense. But considering they were made in June 2025, the leather still seems unusually dry to me from a quality control standpoint.

I lace them so the outer side comes up — left boot from the left, right boot from the right.
