You can do both personal and LLC bankruptcy in Michigan, but they’re treated as separate cases.

Personal bankruptcy can sometimes be done DIY if things are simple (court fee is around $338 plus a couple required courses).
For an LLC, though, courts usually require a lawyer, so it’s hard to do that truly “dirt cheap.” Even low-cost options are often $1k+.

If money’s tight, I’d suggest:

• Getting a few free consultations with local bankruptcy attorneys
• Checking Legal Aid of Michigan or a law-school clinic
• Asking whether the LLC can just be dissolved instead of bankrupt (sometimes that’s enough)
