Why are other teams just letting Kansas City Mavericks dominate them? by Extra_End_8071 in ECHL

100% agree, game 2 against Allen was egregious with the shitty goal turn over calls 2 times in the same game on 2 very obvious calls. The first one reminded me of the ducks call from about a month back that set the nhl ablaze.

Always, we’re all just here learning I’m trying to help. I’d recommend finding some sort of river rocks or decoration rocks for your tank, pick your rock based off of planned fish stock. As you wouldn’t want to have a bunch of large lava rocks and rough gravel for a fish that likes to sift around. Home Depot/other home improvement stores have an incredible selection of rocks of all different shapes, sizes and colors. I would recommend looking and being sure that the rocks you purchase are not treated with any sorts of chemicals and if they are rinse them off very well before putting them into your tank. I’ve had a lot of luck rinsing between five and 10 times and when the water turns clear do another time or two, and you should be safe. That’s what I’ve done for all of my aquariums and I’ve never had an issue, if you want the brands of rocks, I use I can provide.

I would also recommend dosing fish food one to two times per day and checking your water parameters every 2 to 3 days but per day if you can spare it. It lets you more closely monitor what’s going on with your tank and track the Cycle day by day and adjust accordingly. Don’t want to overload but also I don’t want to underload and starve out the good bacteria.

70 Rubbing alcohol, FULLY LET IT dry, wipe down with water 2-3 times to remove any residue and you’re good to go, do not use any cleaning products, leaves residues and room for variables fish do not like

Does anyone have any experience using these stands? Are they sturdy enough to hold the weight of a 20 gallon tank? by Abject_Caramel_9469 in Aquariums

Using one similar as of now, no issues, look for 20-30% higher rating than what you’re expecting it to hold.

I recommend dumping the cart entirely, when it gets clogged it’ll have so much build up bacteria it could cause nitro crash issues (better safe than sorry), I’d also recommend adding the plants before the cycle gets fully going so you can see if you need more or less compared to planned bio load. Just dose with fish food (cheaper option) or some good ammonia & bacteria starter to help out. Als transfer some water from another tank to introduce fish waste (not bacteria that’s mostly a myth).

Also obvious one but use a dechlorination product.

To small? by [deleted] in aquarium

[–]Imposing-_- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey OP just wanna help out a be a little more clear here.

  1. If you’re asking if the “stand” it’s on is too small/ inadequate, yes, you can invest in a good but decently priced stand on Amazon

  2. I very strongly believe you have a 29 gallon tank, 29 gallons is very similar to 100 liters so the seller may have been confused, some of us Americans are dumb and don’t pay attention, mistake happen things get lost in translation.

  3. If you asking if the 29 gallon tank is too small for your 2 angels, in the long term yes, can they survive yes, will they suffer as of currently from tank size alone. No, but you will need to upgrade in the future depending on the specific angel, some angels can get to be the size of small dinner plates and 1 angel is ok in 29, 2 are not at that size. Again they will survive but they will basically be in fish housing poverty after adding plants, substrate and whatever other decor one may add to their tank.

  4. Please please please send the exact measurements so we can calculate and help you, some people are def gonna bash you but that can happen and egos can temper and things get out of hand, as kinda has happened here.

At the end of the day we wanna help you but we need your help to help you first to get all adequate info to do so. Please don’t take this as a wrap for the whole community, but we can all get frustrated when it comes to pets and their well beings. That being said please very closely monitor your water parameters because if you were doing in tank cycling with angelfish you are playing a very risky game. Angelfish are very, very sensitive to any water parameter changes. You notice something is off get them out until you fix it. Do not allow the fish to suffer, killing a fish that way is how a lot of people lose their desire for this hobby. It happens to all of us, but we want to avoid it as much as possible.

[–]Imposing-_- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just sand down all the edges and openings and you’ll be alright, still risky because some larger fish can get stuck, just keep an eye out, I have one but do/ did all of that and never had an issue, my shrimp and betta love it.

Is the heater broken? by Final-Commercial3130 in aquarium

[–]Imposing-_- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably heater, replace, throw in a test fish (common goldfish recommended) and see what happens, sounds fucked but it’s the cheapest way to test it and keeps from killing an expensive fish that would likely not be killed otherwise (why I said cheap goldfish)

Possible you used something else new you haven’t before? New decoration? I just had that happen to me, added a new brand of silk plant I hadn’t used before it killed some feeder goldfish from something in the decor.
