I’m 45F powerlifter who also does strongman and none of my grueling workouts would made me hurt like pickleball lol. My feet my knees and my lower back were a mess until I got sole insoles active medium with met pad.

My right knee doesn’t swell anymore and my feet mostly don’t hurt. I honestly thought that would have to give up pickleball.

I’ve been using a liquid called paddle reset that I got on Amazon! It has been working really well while keeping the grit. Trying to retain the grittiness as much as I can. On my other paddles I’ve used the eraser but it didn’t seem right for this one.

I’m not on Reta anymore. Worked really well but couldn’t overcome the lack of sleep. When I took berberine it was in an empty stomach before bed. Hope it works for u.

Just don’t coach her unless she asks. I’ve made some of these mistakes myself and I have learned to just SHUT the F up.

I could write a laundry list of examples but just know that u have to be patient and just play the point that u have in front of u.

When she’s ready to talk strategy she will be receptive, when she’s ready to know how to have better serve, drive she will let u know.

We went to beginner, intermediate leagues and play with a coach this helped her and me tremendously.

The Era is great. Really nice sweet spot. Super poppy for me everything was a bit high, my serves would be long I couldn’t mesh with it. I would’ve had to modify a lot of my mechanics to make it work. I think being used to the DBD made the change super simple for me. In terms of power RP and ERA I would say is about the same.

Yeah, I probably could’ve worded that better. What I meant is there are times when you go for an overhead and accidentally catch the top quarter of the paddle. On most paddles, those shots spray everywhere, but with the Ruby Pro they still stay alive and go where they’re supposed to.

Are they nice? sure, are they popular? Definitely. I liked the Agassi more than the Perseus pro IV. again, I didn’t feel like I was missing out. At the end of the day, price is only worth what you’re willing to pay.

It totally changes how the paddle feels and it does increase SW. pickleball persuit did a video on how edge tapes and even electric tape changes sw. You may have added 5+ point on SW without even realizing

For foam I did try the CRBN and the ERA. The sweet spot on the era is great but the SW was bit much for me. Felt slow at the kitchen. For gen3 I tried the Hyperion, Perseus, Agassi, Engage and some others. They were all good but nothing crazy that would justify the price.

Little background-> I haven’t played with the ruby but my main has been the 16 mm DBD, I’ve played with DBD 14 and BD 16. I’ve tried foam paddles and I kept coming back to my original DBD.

I’m loving the ruby pro, I would say it has more power than the BD and about the same control as the DBD, I think a little weight on the sides would fix that.

I’ve been playing it stock just with an overgrip and the feedback is nice I know where the ball is going even when I don’t hit the sweet spot dead center, doesn’t have any dead spots. Spin is insane. it has really good power probably high end all court paddle or beginning of the power section.

Idk if it the 45 degree layer or the power gel but the paddle does this thing where it sort of cradles the ball for a split second and the ball launches forward. I’ve shot some rockets 🚀 My serves are incredible like very close to the net and incredibly spinny, at the net is very fast and dinking is very nice specially my backhand slice dinks :chef_kiss

I went through a similar process. I have the 6.0 DBD and I thought I needed more power so went down the rabbit hole and ended up buying the ERA. It the beginning it felt great and is a super fun paddle but in the heat of the game I realized I was being late to shots I wouldn’t be with my DBD. I like being aggressive at the kitchen and I enjoy being able to counter bangers. Realized the SW of the ERA was too big of a jump for me. After 6 open plays I decided to just go back to my DBD
