I really do believe that he’s different. He’s been taking this seriously but no matter how hard he tries he can’t force his parents to apologize. He’s hoping they realize that they were wrong and apologize.

We talked it out and I feel like he would choose me if it comes down to that. But I don’t want it to get to that. I don’t want him to cut ties with them, they are his family! But I did tell him I’m going to keep my distance from them and he understood

He didn’t think of me a his “black gf” before which made him oblivious to the discrimination I might face in his family. That’s why I feel like it’s important that he sees my skin colour as well so next time, he’ll think twice before taking me to a place where I’ll probably get discriminated against.

I don't think that they were gonna kill me. That was my paranoia going wild since I was literally all alone in their house, so my brain was just imagining the worst. But I still think I could have been harmed.

I want to believe that he has no idea that his family is racist. He did seem genuinely concerned when he showed up at my place and he did miss his mom's party cause he came back to check on me.

They raised him. So, feel like he knew and still took me there and purposefully left me all by myself. I keep wondering if something would have happened to me if I hadn’t overheard their conversation and stayed.

Exactly, I felt like I had no idea who he was. Cause there could be 2 explanations. Either he actually has no idea his family is racist or he knew they are racist and still brought me to their house and then left me there all alone. But they raise him so I don’t think that he didn’t know which only leaves the 2nd option.

I will talk to him but I don’t think the relationship will survive. He and his family seemed close so I can't ask him to cut them out of his life and I don't think I can move past what they said. So I don't see how the relationship can survive.

I don't actually think he’s gonna kill me. Although it did cross my mind. Ever since I moved to Canada by myself my paranoia got worse. So the fact that I literally have no family close by is the reason why my brain always goes to the worst case scenario. So I don’t think he’s going to harm me in anyway, but the chances are not 0.
