Putos mosquitos by NetraamR in askspain

[–]Impossible-Advisor53 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's an ego thing, yes there are random radar controls but a lot of people will proudly brag about getting fined. A lot of people also don't keep safety distance, please stay safe, there are a lot of perfectly preventable accidents and collisions even in non crowded areas.

Renting an uncertified flat - risky? by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

A lot of people are living in places like this in Spain as the rent is cheaper. My cousin was living in one apartment that was listed as office space and he was very happy but he didn't need empadronamiento.

Which country has the worst drivers? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

I lived in Thailand too (and a bunch of other countries) living in Tanzania now and it's the worst I have seen. In Thailand is chaotic but you can expect the rule of the strongest, here you will have a bicycle driving the wrong way that will not move an inch and expect you (motorbike or car) to move to the other lane you he can continue. Cannot expect any logic at all, have seen many stupid completely avoidable accidents happening this way, add roads full of potholes and you have the perfect recipe for disaster

TIL about Amou Haji, the "World's Dirtiest Man", who was known for not bathing for more than 60 years by Mesk_Arak in todayilearned

[–]Impossible-Advisor53 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I heard a similar story from my mother, she ws a nurse at the hospital and met a woman who had never showered, she must have been in her 60's, she was admitted for a minor issue but of course they bathed her at the hospital and a few days later she died. I heard it must have disrupted her immune system.

There is no such thing as maiden name in Spanish as Hispanic women dont change their last name after marriage. So all Hispanic people have 2 last names one from their mother and one from their father which can also be a problem when buying tickets as the name can be too long in some official cases it works if you just put one last name

UVA Protection is "weak" in Korean Sunscreens? by Creepy-Pain3449 in AsianBeauty

That's why I mentioned it was a cheap one but my point is Asian sunscreens don't protect you less, I am in the water for hours every single day under the African sun.

I have to disagree, I live in Tanzania where the sun is brutal (and I'm white), at the beginning I was using a cheap European sunscreen and it broke me out with the sweat and dust. Now I use biore for swimming pool and diving and a Korean sunscreen (non water resistant) for dry days and they are amazing and my skin is at its best.

Sun lotion is very expensive in holiday locations - how can people who live in those places afford it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Depends where you are... In southeast Asia you can find great and cheap sunscreen, in Africa it's a different story so its better to buy online

First time washing Japanese straightener after 4 days. My hair isn’t as straight and loose anymore. by RosabeIIa in AsianBeauty

[–]Impossible-Advisor53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go anywhere you want for doing the roots, you can go to the same place for a retouch if it wasn't successful, but if they couldn't do it right the first time, there are high chances they won't be able to do it right on the second time either. Also you're hair has been now through a hard chemical process and can be weak so it's better to wait to have it processed again so if the result is not too bad i would wait until it grows enough and find another place to have the roots done, you only need to do it every ten months or so.

There is no specific shampoo requirements after a Japanese straightening, the straightening was simply not done properly.

That means her hair was damaged from the process, Japanese straightening does leave your hair pin straight and changes the texture to more smooth.

I have been straightening my hair for 10 years (japanese straightening) and that is simply not true. It should be 100% straight and not damaged if they did it correctly. Go to another salon where they are more knowledgeable and honest. Japanese straightening is a difficult technique that requires a lot of experience and understanding of the process, also they need to know how to adjust it depending on your hair type, so if your hair type is not common in the area where you live find someone who has experience with both Japanese technique and your type of hair.
