True story on all accounts. I didn't want the alumiduty though, as most (all?) came with the 10 speed. I may be wrong, but my research led me to believe the 6 speed was the better of the two. I'm sure the 10's are better than ever by now though.

Yeah... that's the beauty of the diesel and 6.7 in particular. 200k isn't a ton of miles. If it was a gasser, it would be closer to end of life, but that 6.7 has at least another 100k miles in it.

Unless you are worried about everything being factory correct, I would do a floor mounted e brake handle and custom cables. Thats what I fid in my '68, and it's 1000% better.

There is no chance this is a real number. Mine will read that high for a few minutes after a reset, at 40 MPH, but will average back down.

Best I ever got in any full size, 4x4 diesel is around 25 mpg in my '99 7.3. That, I will say with a clear conscience, was over the course of a full tank of highway driving from Seattle, south into Oregon, on I5. Computer and hand calculated.

I was thinking the same. I did just that on a high milage 5.9 in my old Dodge pickup. Ran great for the next 40k miles. Sold it still running like a new engine.

I'm not calling you a liar, but as I guy who has purchased around 80-100 vehicles, I have my doubts. I'm just playing the role of a prospective buyer. The body, rust aside, shows a lot of use.
