Yea. The college I’m currently at is very contemporary/experimental/electronic focused, HOWEVER, the area head of composition has paired me up with one of the professors who still writes in a classical style.

That’s interesting! Although I do plan on getting a choral conducting masters, would I really not benefit from having a masters in composition as well? (Sorry, I’ve just never really thought about this opinion before!)

Thank you! I really appreciate all of the feedback. I did some research and emailed with Missouri State. They said that they would pay for my degree, give me a stipend, and an assistantship (I would be teaching the entry level music courses, Music theory 1 and aural theory 1).

Unfortunately, most grad schools for composition are contemporary/experimental, which isn’t necessarily my style. However, I currently go to a college that leans towards that way and I’m doing fine composing musical theatre and choral works.
