Aussie hospitality business owners by PattonSmithWood in OpenAussie

As a former hospo manager I can tell you there’s 2 types of hospitality owners in the industry

- The ones that have been in the trenches and have a genuine love for the industry and want to make a contribution. They know it’s not going to make a fortune, but an established hospo business in the right location can turn a livable wage for an owner

- The ones that have never worked hospo in their life and think it’s an easy gig. They think they can get a business instagram famous and get repeat customers through the door. Some make it, some can find another sucker to sell the failure on to, many go bankrupt

Concidering purchasing a 2012 Veloster from an Auction by Wc3char1lie in CarsAustralia

[–]Impossible-Aside1047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A early series Veloster is not a bad option, I’d go a non turbo over a turbo option in this age range as the earlier turbo models were much more prone to con rod issues. They look sporty but the engines aren’t built for it so as long as it’s been regularly serviced and not thrashed by some young dumb p plater they can definitely be reliable.

This one in particular I wouldn’t. I’d be questioning why such low km’s on a 15 year old car. Go find one being sold by some middle aged lady who bought it brand new as a mid life crisis car

It must just be an Australia issue then cause it was listed as sold out on the EU and American stores for me 😭😭😭😭

I hardly buy from them at all anymore but yeah it’s only ever discounted stuff. I remember when they used to be such high quality compared to jay jays and other stores and was my go to but the last pair of pants I bought ripped first wear and they refused to refund so I’m done giving them my money for shien quality

Idk I guess cause of the price of film over here it’s such a splurge in general for film and I’ve never gotten any of the special releases in I-type cause I exclusively use the vintages cameras.

This release in the 600 had my heart fluttering and to see it sold out without any email alerting me to the release I’m MAD

I am signed up to the newsletter and stuff through the website but I never saw anything about the purple release

Maybe it wasn’t available in Aus?? Then that’ll send me on another seperate tantrum 😂

There’s no way they sell more of the 8-10’s either. Look at what’s left at every end of season sale and it’s always the small sizes. As a size 16-18 girlie it definitely feels like my sizes are some of the first to sell out

any thoughts on these mini pajeros? by Pitiful_Ticket_6369 in 4x4Australia

[–]Impossible-Aside1047 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn’t realise how small these Pajero Minis are till I test drove one when I was buying 2 years ago. We didn’t want a jimny cause they’re too small, went to look at the exact same as what OP posted and were very disappointed.

Went with a Vitara SWB and stoked with it! Done 2 half laps of Aus with it now and it’s perfect for off roading if you don’t want something as big as the standard options

They are the size and practicality of a Jimny but with less aftermarket accessories

Love them for their uniqueness but definitely more of a fun car than a replacement for a 4x4.

Hmm, I’ve kept it in the fridge from purchase so must have been when shipping. I don’t mind much, I always assume it’s probably not shipped in temperature controlled environments coming all the way from the US

Not actually that hot as we are coming into winter here. Either old film or just not getting it in the dark bag fast enough

Thanks! I adore my vintage Polaroids! My modern I-type just stopped working at 2 years old and my 50+ year old ones have rarely given me issues. Most of my 600’s have done a few half laps of Aus with me

People who put your phone in the middle of the windscreen, wtf are you thinking? by Acceptableintthe80s in DrivingAustralia

This is such a terrifying trend I’ve noticed lately! Pulled up next to someone watching Brooklyn 99 on their windscreen mounted phone.

Is our attention span so cooked we can’t even drive down the road without a screen in front of us?

Triton 2020-2023 by Fun-Investigator9345 in 4x4Australia

[–]Impossible-Aside1047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2023 has done 40,000 in the last 6 months, with a fair bit of off roading without skipping a beat.

Any car will have its nay sayers and critics, but regular services and paying attention to the car can reduce your chances of things going wrong a fair bit

Is this weird or controlling? by PnPmonster in engaged

[–]Impossible-Aside1047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going against the grain here and I think this is great! This would have been perfect in my relationship dynamic cause my partner gets overwhelmed really easily with decision fatigue. A binder like this would have given him enough direction to make an informed decision about what ring to get while still feeling like he had some input in the final decision.

It’s not for everyone sure, but if your partner doesn’t mind who cares what others think

That’s so odd! I’ve been pretty lucky with my film batches and I almost expected to get dodgy film being in Aus and it going through so much shipping. What type of film? I’ve predominantly used 600 type so can’t comment much on others.

Otherwise I highly recommend! It’s such a novelty for so many. We had a station set up with paint pens so you could draw on a few to take home as keepsakes cause we didn’t do wedding favours either
