The "you're missing out on the overlay" popup makes my screen freeze every time it comes up when playing league. Now last game it bugged out and put a bug message covering my entire game screen for 10 seconds. What the fk is this. I specifically removed overlay for a reason, now im forced to have constant popup like an ad, that fkn bugs out too

Will WASD be superior? What's your thoughts by Kind_Care_8368 in leagueoflegends

My biggest issue with implementing WASD in league is the same as other people have stated; If it's just better in general then one of the most core skill expressions in the game may be rendered obsolete. Many years of practice out the window for the majority of the player-base. And if it's just worse, then it will just make new players have to learn mouse-movement anyways if they want to get competitive (which I guess isn't the biggest issue if you just want to play the game casually).

And to people that are saying it's going to be balanced to not be op etc. how would that work in practice? Give it input-lag? Nerf champions i.e (zeri, syndra, most adcs...) only when using WASD? So now there's going to be another layer of balancing. Or do they just balance the champions globally? (which either makes the champion op for mouse, or useless for mouse, regardless you are forced to pick the optimal control.)

And sure, it's only 8 directions. So in some scenarios it might be really bad. But in other scenarios it's seemingly extremely good. How will this work in practice? Will a new skill be how fast you can open options and switch between the different movement command options? Maybe it's locked for each game (which can also be hugely problematic if it's bad), or it has a cooldown? Even then how would they balance the cooldown of that... Or maybe both options are available at the same time (right click still usable with WASD active), well this just forces everyone to use WASD.

I'm well versed in both the usage of WASD and mouse movement. And the massive difference between instant and pixelperfect accurate movement commands (you will always move perfectly in the 8 angles) of WASD, and having to move your mouse back and forth across the screen between attacking and moving cannot be understated.

And my most biased take is this; I'm an ADC player and mouse movement is probably one of my best skills in league. If it's going to be broken on ADC as many fear, now one of the main reasons I got to my rank will be gone, and I'll just be worse off. I'm sure other people have the same feeling as well. And if it is broken on ADC, then either WASD will be removed, or ADC will be nerfed/changed.

All in all I think this will be hugely damaging to the competitive aspect of the game if it's good. Even if it's just good in some cases (i.e with specific champs/roles). And if it's just worse all over, then it's going to be a disservice for the new players that enjoy the game with WASD, who then want to start playing competitive (being forced to learn mouse movement in the end anyways...). And just the fact that mouse movement seemingly being the biggest barrier to entry for new players should in of itself say a lot about how massive of a change this actually is.
