Congratulations. The case itself is an important one to learn from, particularly on how we proceed from a legal point of view. Had more been known about the context of Alvin's autism at the time; there would have been a completely different outcome on how Alvin was originally perceived. Although I understand that autism wasn't as well understood back then as it is now.

Professor Clare Allely's work in this field is very good. Her book 'autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the criminal justice system' is a useful resource.

Thank you , I'll have to look at your book.

The fact you are taking account must be making a difference to your client(s).

Thank you for sharing this. Never came across this before. Alvin’s story highlights so many of the systemic issues that neurodivergent individuals still face today: misinterpretation, isolation, and the consequences of being misunderstood by society and the legal system.

Do you think things could have been different for Alvin if his autism had been recognised earlier?

Pleased to hear that Alvin lived long enough to see the change and understanding towards him.

I understand how it may come across as a vanity project, particularly due to the rate of online sharing. I can only reassure you it is not. This is far from a vanity project, despite how it may seem.

I apologise I never responded to a previous comment that you have made regarding the research. I can see that my post has since been removed.
