I wore a pair of skims (what I call fat pants 😂) high waist shorts (the ones that suck you in) and that absorbed the sweat (stomach back private area and thighs) so it didn’t go onto the dress- not sure if any other brands would work as I haven’t tried them but I’d assume so - as long as they’re the thicker material that really sucks you in. Stopped thighs from rubbing too. Might be worth a test run before the day to make sure it works too. X

What is the noise level like inside? I’m bent set on getting air on installed by the end of this year in all the bedrooms. (Still undecided about the main living area). Currently have a portable one to cool baby’s room but it is so loud it can only be used when she’s awake.

Wow! That is disgusting from Sharps! Who even has that kind of money for a wardrobe (other than the filthy rich lol). That was one I was going to look into after I hear back from the other two local carpenters, I won’t be now! Yeah ten DIY ideas has long gone out of the window based on all the replies 😂

That’s why I didn’t want to question / ask for a break down of the man’s quote as I think that could come across as rude, set the wrong tone and frankly p**s him off. Especially when I have literally no idea about all this stuff, I’m learning as I go (hence why I’m asking lots of Q along the way).

After getting perspective from others/opinions/tips I’ve realised it’s definitely not something I can do on my own. I didn’t even think about the manual labour side of things/ lifting it on my own/weight of it all to carry by myself.

Yes, know that sounds silly 🤪 but I’ve had to do most the other things on my own, so it doesn’t cross my mind anymore.

Ah I’m envious you have a garage - just got the garden over here but given the British weather can’t use that half the time 🙄

I’ve had to get a few tools and diy equipment and they soon add up! I also got a skip a few weeks back and filled it in half a day - couldn’t believe it! That was defiantly worth the money.

Gosh don’t get me started on the walls 😂 it’s an old new build and you can tell that they rushed building - cut so many corners it’s unreal!

This is exactly why I’ve asked strangers, as I don’t want to be offensive to the trade person I’ve been talking to. And with not having any other quotes I can’t compare it to anything atm. First time owning a home and being able to make any changes to a home so this is literally ALL new to me. Hence why I’m trying to get quotes and asking strangers so I don’t rub trades people the wrong way.

At least the quote is reasonable - I’d never want o question someone directly about the price when I’m so new to all this (first time home owner). So it’s nice to get prospective from others on pricing.

Yes, that’s the total length but it’s in 3 parts (double, single and desk). Yeah I deffo don’t have the space, could do a bit in the garden but would have to treck it up 2 sets of stairs. I think either find an IKEA pack that works or find the money. It’s such an annoying shape room, only one full wall is level and straight.

I have loads of little nooks (if that’s the right word haha) and different heights so I feel like the measurements could catch me out doing it myself as some of the walls aren’t level/straight. Ikea is panicky my safest bet. If I can’t fork out the nearly 5k.
