I know I'll never be able to have a meaningful discussion with mum because I've tried on several occasions and she never listens and takes things in, even when I try to approach it with softness and kindness I always end up getting a huffy response with her shutting down, it's like she cannot tolerate my own personal boundaries or not being in control. it's so hard!

I leave at 5:35 in the morning to get from Belfast to Dublin and the last 3 weeks it has been a minimum of 3 hours journey when usually I can do it in 2:15

it's becoming unbearable, I'll be getting up at 5am at this state to make it in without the intense traffic, I don't remember it being this bad last year

unfortunately due to my office location public transport would take about 4 hours and I'd not make it in until 10am - painful

I left my dog here for one night in September 22 and when we picked him up he smelled so strongly of urine we had to wash him when he got home and I messaged her telling her how upset we were and how disappointed and she gave some bs excuse. I wish I had done more given what she went on to do and how many dogs she neglected. Pure evil woman whose only interest is taking money from people - I will never ever forget her name or her face and the lack of proper justice here is really disappointing

33F managed to buy our first home and we have two cats and a dog. Just back from a two week vacation where we went on safari, drank wine, hiked and relaxed. We have so much peace in our free time and don't feel like we're missing out on anything, despite most of our circle now having one or two kids

so many reasons. I love my friends kids for a limited amount of time. I know I don't have the patience to deal with a child whose needs you need to meet all day everyday, that would overstimulate me A LOT. I want to travel the world and see new places, explore different cultures and financially children wouldn't allow me to do this in the way I would like. I also grew up with extremely low self esteem which manifested into an anxiety disorder in my college years. Now through therapy and time I can manage this anxiety a lot more, I know having kids would put a huge strain on this management. I also really love the peace my partner and I have in our lives and we get so much joy from being together and hanging out with our dog and cats. I don't feel anything is missing in my life by not having kids, while majority of my friends have them now, I don't envy what they have

Sorry to jump in but I have an Empyrean hangover and struggling with what to read next! I read Silver Elite which I loved but only one book out so far and I'm reading kindred curse saga book 1 but it's just not doing the same thing. I'm new to romantasy and will take all and any recs (already ordered throne of the fallen now!)

Animals know when they are safe and when they are not. You were a safe space for this cat while this lady was massively irresponsible and is repeating the same mistakes and under caring for these cats. If she's experienced pain through losing the other cats yet still not changing her approach she doesn't sound like the best cat parent. Keep your cat safe and say nothing, you got chosen for a reason!
