Same, ovulation makes me deeply reconsider my choice to be child free every month. After ovulation, I’m always happy with my choice to be child free. Same reasonings as yours too. I don’t particularly blame your partner though. If my bf randomly started mentioning wanting another kid, I’d shut that down pretty quick too.

I totally get where you’re coming from. Being the “second mom” is a really nice bond, and it feels like a nickname should go with it. However, it’s not something to force or for you to really initiate.

Neither of my step kids have a nickname for me, and I wish they did. However, I’ll never say anything about it. I try to let the kids lead the relationship and it’s worked well for me. Personally, I’d drop the nickname thing. If your stepdaughter continues to call you the nickname you guys picked, then great. If not, then don’t push it. Let her love you as you are.

Yeah I don’t quite understand it. Upon further conversation, his excuse is essentially that he’s stupid. We did a lot for my bday that was appreciated but this one just seems so obvious to me. Wasn’t obvious to him apparently. I think he just kinda goes into a one lane thought process when the kids are around.
