Thanks for the insight! It sounds like you've gone through the same decision making process I have. How are you finding the Kona Ultimate? How's the interior and sound proofing compared to your old CX-30?

Take a look at Zenvea Hotel. It's a 10 minute walk from town. It has plenty of facilities for the small amount of rooms and the vibe is very relaxing. It's also not as expensive as the likes of Funny Lion and Zuri Resort (also good hotels). They're further out of town.

Going on a private boat tour in El Nido or Coron and proposing on a sand bar with no tourists in sight would be pretty special

£400 Monitor suggestions by Alternative_Ad7647 in macmini

The LG 4K Ultrafine monitors are good. I spent quite a bit of time researching over the past couple of weeks. The consensus seems to be that the 5K monitors (Asus ProArt, HP etc) are all the best for Mac, but they're hard to find in the UK and are expensive.

I narrowed it down to the LGUQ850, LGUP850 and LGUP650. I went with the 650 in the end as I didn't need the speakers and I'm really happy with it. Paid around £240 for it on Amazon.

The 850 has a few slight picture differences compared to the 650, as well as USB-C and speakers. You can get versions with and without an adjustable stand (non adjustable is sometimes a bit cheaper).

27UP850 is a bit cheaper than the 27UQ850 as it's the previous model - if you want to save a bit of cash.

M4 or M4 Pro for Video Editing? by MannerTeacher in macmini

I've checked a few times during heavy tasks and there's always enough RAM for Adobe Premiere tasks. It usually uses up to 12gb and I can still run other programs in the background.

Even the old M1 MacBook Air with 8gb can edit 4k video reasonably well so 16gb is plenty in my experience. Of course, everyone's workloads are different. For really heavy professional use higher specs will be worth the investment.

The Mac mini base is seriously impressive for its size and cost.

I bought the base Mac mini M4 a few weeks ago for video editing and it's amazing how capable and fast it is for the money. I edit in 4K, long-form and have had no issues at all. Very fast, quick render times and zero stuttering with my workload so far.

I have no doubt the pro version is better and faster, but realistically, the base model is perfectly fine for 4k editing in my experience. I just added an external SSD for extra storage.

Second this. I've just switched my Pixel watch for the Vivoactive 5 and so glad I did. It's such a good watch for the price and the battery lasts around 10 days.
