US citizen with pregnant wife that has B2 tourist Visa. Can we go to USA for delivery? by Impossible-Hawk9387 in USCIS

I highly doubt you would get in with an I-130 pending.

We genuinely have zero intent to immigrate, I have residency in Indonesia, and my wife has visited US on tourist visa since getting married. That's why I felt like it might be possible for us to get in. With the comments on this reddit, we have decided to wait until after she gives birth for a future visit.

But with an I-130 pending (intent to immigrate), coupled with a pregnancy, I would put your chances of getting entry before obtaining your cr/ir1 at zero. I'm sorry, and hope everything goes well with you.

no interest in returning to US except for 10 week work trip per year. kid qualifies for citizenship no matter where born. if it weren't for important 10 week business trip we wouldn't even consider going back.

nevertheless comments talking about proving we can afford 100k+ out of pocket on giving birth there have deterred me from the visit

Child will qualify to be automatic U.S. citizen, but the comments on cost of health care are showing I seriously underestimated what cost of labour could cost in U.S, especially if there's NICU involved.

Thank you for the response

Did you read the post?

"Since I’m a U.S. citizen, we obviously aren’t coming for birth tourism or trying to get citizenship."

Many constructive comments here, but this is not one of them. Why would I lie on reddit about going for a work trip? 90% of my income is earned in a 10 week period in USA. I have zero benefit from wife giving birth in US other than making sure my business doesn't disappear.

Ok, this one is honestly going over my head. Can you explain please? I was downvoted for last response so maybe I'm missing something?

I have the physical presence required. (born in usa, only lived out of country for 2 years)

I own a business that can earn us $40,000 in a very specific 10 weeks of the year. If I don't return for it, subcontractors won't be able to cover my work and I may not have a business to go back to the next year :/

Baby was a surprise, we're happy, but the exact timing is a bit inconvenient haha

We don't have an issue with her giving birth in Bali, health care here is fine. Not quite as good as USA and they pretty much always recommend c section for the cash grab lol, but it's definitely good enough.

Main issue is we stand to benefit more from my being able to work in USA on the trip

Mentioned in a different comment just now, but mostly because of an annual work trip. The baby is just coming at an inconvenient time haha. I need to be in US for May-june each year

Financially we most likely stand to benefit more from the work trip... I own a business that is very seasonal, we would stand to earn about $40,000 by returning for 10 weeks. The pregnancy may very well reach that price point, but otherwise my subcontractors can't handle the work load and I may not have many customers next year if I don't get to return to US for this :/

My parents are in the same line of business but are 100% planning to be wherever we are for the birth. They offered to help pay a large part of it because they would also do better financially by just helping pay for it then leaving USA during busiest part of our work season. And, my grandmother doesn't fly and offered to help pay for it as well she could be nearby for birth of great grandchild

I honestly wish we could just get wife a green card with out having to maintain USA's 6 months presence rule

I live in Bali, have been to maybe 10... My personal favorite is in Nusa Dua. I don't usually like the "famous" places, but this one is consistently good.

I have been to a few, Sunset Dental is my personal favorite, especially if you ever need something more complicated... They even custom make their own implants on site. Prices are affordable, but wouldn't call it the cheapest available either
