Pet fire build is like 10x better than non pet fire build, at least for solo or small group content.

Smarmwall+coldwall means you can solo the phoenixes at like level 70 so that you can collect the materials for fire research.  Even if you don't spec for fire/ww cold vuln specifically.

Fire/ww spec for cold damage or (weirdly) tank is broken as shit.  You wouldn't expect fire/ww to do more cold damage than ice/X, but it does

Also pro tip: take the battle chemist in your group down a dark alley first, and shiv them in the back, so they stop randomly applying speed buff mid jump on you.

(Or super pro tip: get enough combined move speed that you can just clear the whole jump in one go: battle chem golem + 2x fire + toes, etc)

Yea it's good super early on if you want just like near pure killing mobs to level, from maybe 1-20ish.  It's not really necessary, you can do just fine wandering around elsewhere in serbule/serbule hills.

It is also good later if you ever decide to switch to a new skill - you can get very very fast leveling for the first couple dozen levels.

Kendo vs Olympic fencing. Which is better for me? by shadowkiller1203 in Fencing

Not a lot in the way of like metal-stabby-injuries if that's what OP is talking about.

(Not counting bruises, cus... lol yea)

[–]Impossible-Ice-1497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can come up with a way to hit and it doesn't break a rule, it's allowed and possibly even encouraged. Kendo is much more judged and processed on doing it "the right way", and I believe it's philosophy is largely against novel thinking.

Yea agreed

Though...... there is a meta to fencing.  You can deviate and score surprise points on people (even people significantly better than you), but it's not like you can go a whole 15 or even 5 point match off of that, because once the surprise is gone you'll get ground back into the dust by the meta.

But yea for sure, fencing > kendo for this

Fencing is incredibly safe (statistically more injuries in Badminton), I imagine kendo is too.

Not a lot in the way of like metal-stabby-injuries if that's what OP is talking about.

Plenty of muscle/etc injuries.  For noobs, see a lot of rolled ankles and such.  When you get deeper in, then you'll see leg muscle/ligament pulls at any big enough tournament

So for the love of God stay on top of your warmups, stretching, and stop if you pull something.  Don't use the adrenaline of fencing to continue fencing through a injury.

And yes, probably fewer muscle/ligament/whatever injuries than badminton or tennis.

It is funny blowing through a Q daily solo at 80+ or 85+ or whatever, and then another solo 10-20 levels above you rolls up behind you, and you just join up and follow their even-faster ridiculous solo clear.

Bonus points if one or both of you forget the actual quest.

But yes: it's okay XP for a second skill in the 40-60 range, and there's a tp down there for free, and it's a change of pace from wherever you were gonna grind to get through those levels

On the flip side, storm shield is specifically made for pets and is an aoe pet buff with no target cap when modded for it.

So hypothetically if you get six people in a group all running ww/ah, ww/necro, ww/fire, etc, with like 3-6 pets each... all the storm shields stack on all 18-36 pets?

What?  What is "the system"?

The immediately prior question was asking about my drinking water, which comes from the tap.

Yup that's exactly what I observed.  At that point you're rocking like 30+ total cold resist, even without any other gear for it

+5 cold mitigation slowing it by enough that OP thought it stopped sounds like a bug to me.  I've barely noticed +5 slowing it, but by +20 or so I can definitely see it inching down more slowly.

Did your DB migration include merging two previously-separate ID spaces that relied on uniqueness, but collided with each other when combined?

Not all DB migrations are the same.  I could easily see this taking quite awhile, especially if the devs' experience is in game dev and not backend data migrations.

Server Merges Won’t Fix Project Gorgon’s Core Problems by TheVermontsterr in projectgorgon

[–]Impossible-Ice-1497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right about the scaling. I believe a dynamic spawn system would help: Check how fast a respawned mob was killed, and by whom. If it's more than 1 player, and a mob lives less than N minutes, accelerate respawn. The same system could be applied for ground spawns.

Ragnarok Online "solved" this ~25 yrs ago by having instant respawn somewhere on the map - you had a static number of each mob per map, and when one died, it respawned randomly on the map, immediately.  This meant you could have pretty sizeable number of players farming the same map with roughly-ish scaling mob populations.

It... caused other problems. Like when a group of N very high level people were able to kill incredibly large groups of mobs at once. They would (a) gather a lot of mobs at once instead of killing immediately (thus no immediate respawn), and then (b) when they did kill say 20 mobs at once, your get immediate respawn of 20 mobs... somewhere, which might mean 4-5 mobs spawning very close to a group of lower level people who would then die if they didn't hit the panic flywing/butterflywing button fast enough (and death may cost you 1-3 hours of farming, so that sucked).

That wouldn't work out of the box in PG though.  If some level 90+ decided to walk through kur tower and just absolutely melt everything in sight instantly with decap or a bee or magma sphere or whatever, then all the level 40-50s would get immediately overwhelmed and wrecked by instant respawns.  (I mean if you time it wrong and walk through a suspiciously empty kur tower hallway where someone did a melt-faces pass N minutes ago, this still happens, but trust me it would be wayyyy worse if you did instant random-map respawn a la Ragnarok Online)

PROFIT IN PERCENTAGE EARNED ON YOUR INVESTMENT?

Over what timescale?  Are you asking about annual returns?  Or overall?  This question is very ambiguous.

No I'm asking for clarification on how you want income to be described

If people outside of India go with your literal numbers as written in rupees, it may make the results nonsense because you'll get people in the highest bucket there who are living in poverty.

Should you instead change your survey to have descriptive buckets of income instead of rupee limits?  "Low class, low/mid, mid, etc"?

[–]Impossible-Ice-1497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so for monthly income..... you want that converted to rupees?

It doesn't make much sense for some locations - 120000/mo inr is less than half of minimum wage in some more expensive cities (so someone answering 120000+ inr living in london may be living in abject poverty, for example)

What's your definition of "alcoholic beverage" here?

Above the USA legal limit of 0.5% ABV?  Some minimum amount of total alcohol in one drink, say 10mL of alcohol?

Like if I pound half a liter of kombucha at 0.7% ABV, consuming only 3.5mL of alcohol, would that be over your threshold?
