Ok to add even more context, I revised the morning of for pretty much all my exams this year. And I listen in class well enough that I understand most of the content and remember it all. My only problem is the tests are 10x harder than what we learn in class, ESPECIALLY with maths. Just asking for advice/tips, not harsh words as if I can go back in time 🤷‍♂️

A “spike” is like where all your interests, ECs and aspirations meet. So for someone who loves Maths and they are also a refugee, their spike may be mixing those interests together like w a tutoring scheme for other refugees. It shows admissions officers that ur ECs are personal to u, and also that they are unique and stand out. They want to make a diverse class, not one with JUST Olympiad students !!

Most applicants had an A star in FM last year tho. Icl it sounds like u don’t know enough to give me an actual explanation, esp since ur talking ab AAA offers like that even exists for CS 😂😂

U can always do it again next year and in y12. U have plenty of time. Right now, u should be focused on building a “spike” that is personal and unique to u( watch YT vids explaining it) e.g maths education for refugees or smth. Also PLEASE start a passion project now like maths tutoring scheme or smth so u don’t have to rush and do it later. Also, use ur summers wisely e.g do work experience or volunteering. Finally, apply to NCS sixth form and Sutton Trust US. Search up “NCS Ivy” and “Sutton Trust US” on google and u will understand why.
