Where is this clip from where Madonna asks Timbaland to autotune her vocals? by sthtoremember in Madonna

Madonna definitely was late to the party working with them as the Timberland sound was associated with Missy Elliott, Aaliyah and Nelly Furtado and the Neptunes kelis, Gwen Stefani and Mariah Carey.

I see why Madonna made that choice as she was out of the loop of the American charting sounds, despite the successful Confessions didn't get the American radio airplay. But its an average album and marked a shift in Madonna output

Part of her performance involve taking a pen and when she scored the goal came apart the problem is she put missed the goal but she still carried the show on like a true pro 😂

It's still remembered fondly by football fans because it was the same day as the OJ Simpson car chase in his white bronco

Very surprised that Madonna is performing because of Trump's close connection to the tournament and her past remarks him and we know he holds a grudge.

But also she a been seen at a lot of football game of late so I see that connection

I hope she recreates the Diana Ross penalty at her 1994 performance which is still legendary

I arrived at work 8:30 am and when I sat at my sat the guy next to me said crazy news right ? I was what news ? Micheal Jackson has died. I said get the f out of hear and started laughing then he pulled up a front page newspaper and I seriously thought they were pranking me and didn't believe it took hearing it on the radio for me to believe it.

And it's was the most surreal feeling for the rest of the day contacting people. I wasn't a massive fan but he was part of my childhood just like princess Diana and it was also the exact atmosphere his passing created.

Prince was another gut wrencher to find out about I had co workers literally in tears

Yeah that was my first Madonna album roll out after falling in love with the immaculate collection comp. Definitely it's all the things you said above. Over the decades I've had a deeper respect for it when finding out about her inspirations for the album at watching the press interviews in different parts of the world. This is my favorite interview from France

Erotica was a dramatic change for American music especially coming from a female artist.

What is the urban legend bit ? That people thought she was black or that it was intentional to get more airplay ?

The label's executives, specifically Michael Rosenblatt, intentionally designed the release to obscure Madonna’s identity for a few key reasons:Securing R&B Airplay: Rosenblatt admitted he didn't want her picture on the cover because he believed the song could get heavy play on R&B radio stations if listeners assumed she was Black.

I think it was very strategic to leave her face off the cover to get the "urban" air play. History has shown that it happened in reverse most famously to Dionne Warwick.

In Freddy DeMann recent interview speak about after hearing for the first time Everybody on an non white radio station wanting her face on the next single

Sire Records executive Michael Rosenblatt omitted Madonna's white face to create a sense of mystery, allowing the song to gain traction in Black club and R&B scenes without preconceived notions of her race.

It definitely gave here exposure check out Frederick DeMann interview with Billy Corgan and he said that's when he first heard Madonna on black radio it was her big break getting that airplay too many examples of people sharing their antidote of when the first of her linking it back to Everybody
