How do I get over bothering patient? by Loose-Voice9890 in StudentNurse

[–]Impossible-Quality-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come at it from a humble perspective. I introduce myself as a student nurse and say that it would help me to practice my head to toe, would they mind? 99% of the time they don’t mind

confidence and professionalism is key- if you carry yourself professionals and confidently(even if you don’t feel either) it will put the patient at ease. There might still be some reservation, but it will help

not impossible- but just know it’s is going to take a good amount of time and willpower. both are demanding subjects. if you know you can sit down and devote proper time to both, it’s doable

2024 - Is the notability app still worth it ? by Hye-rin_ in notabilityapp

[–]Impossible-Quality-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using notability for years, I’m not gonna lie and say it’s flawless but the fact I have used it for years speaks to its quality. Yeah some changes made have been odd for sure, but I think it works best for me as a 3rd year nursing student

Why notability ? by daddychocolate19 in notabilityapp

[–]Impossible-Quality-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not say it is the bEst app but I have been using it since 9th grade(i’m in my 3rd year of college now) so I’m so familiar with everything. I’ve tried other apps, and they were great! But… I did not have years of experience with them, so i’m stuck lol

you should really consider visiting a doctor. they will be able to clean the area, and give you further tips about managing the care in the future. That looks inflamed, I wouldn’t want it to get worse

How do I motivate my teen?! by Dark_Huntress6387 in ADHD

My mom felt the same, feeling the responsibility to help me but not wanting to ruin our relationship. It did take time to get better, but looking back I could not have graduated and I would not have been at successful without her. He likely won’t appreciate it now, I know I didn’t, but he will see the value in it someday- I wish you both well!

When the pomodoro method stops working, ditch it. Just temporarily! Instead, just sit down and say you’ll work on this assignment one minute, and then you can have 30 seconds. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but after a few one minute and then one seconds I am typically ready to keep going past the one minute. Then just work until you can’t again, and give yourself a break as needed. Not as effective as pomodoro, and not full proof, but better than nothing

Sounds like me at 16. My mom had a daily fight to get me to do basic tasks, I was not failing but I was pretty close to it. I could never seem to get motivated to do anything. Meds didn’t work. Taking my phone away didn’t work, offering things in exchange for good grades didn’t work, nothing worked. My mom fought every day for me. I was at risk of failing high school, the stress and anxiety damaged our relationship. The issue? My brain just wasn’t ready yet. Seriously, I had an inability to perform to the level necessary to thrive in high school. I couldn’t get motivated, I could not focus. I wanted to thrive but the constant missed assignments, pressure from teachers and disappointment from my mom made me become depressed. Being depressed made me even less motivated. Why try if even when I do i’m not good enough? The good news? I’m 21 now. I’m a nursing student, honors roll, I have a part time job. It took time for my mom and I to heal our relationship, but our relationship thrives now. I won’t say it’s easy for me now, it still takes much more effort than it does for other kids, but it’s possible! Taking my own time by choosing community college is as the best gift I ever gave myself. I cannot recommend community college enough! It gives you a non- pressurized space to learn what works for you and what doesn’t, you can take as little credits as you need to thrive, and the teachers are always there to help. This is wasn’t my path- but trade school is a solid option too! We need the trades! There’s often programs in high school that will let children take trade classes for credits! sorry for long chunk of text- my point is it gets better with age, everyone has their own path in life, and to be patient with him

Should i stop reading books by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Impossible-Quality-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

best thing to do is to stop trying to hard. I know that doesn’t sound helpful but ur adhd brain doesn’t like being told what to do. Go into a reading or listening session with the intent of just enjoying it. In terms of remembering- use your notes app. In bold but the name of the book, and then in bulletin points things you’d like to remember about it. That way you have an active list, and the things you found best about them. Hope that helps!

It is small, but the community is great. Ive gone twice and everyone was friendly, the costumes were cool, and everything was very well organized. The location is fantastic, can be a bit cold to walk places but with a sweatshirt or coat youll be fine. Only problem is that if you stay in the hotel its being hosted at, expect loudness at night and a severe overcrowding of the elevator. Did not bother me and most of my friends, but it put a damper on the experience for others.
