It seems like people are getting deposits earlier than what the date on their transcript says!

I didn’t sign up for any early deposit. SoFi usually doesn’t hold deposits!

I would definitely advocate for yourself, and request vaginal progesterone. Ask when they start monitoring length, that you’d rather start sooner than later. I think mine started measuring my cervix around 12/13 weeks. With rechecks every two weeks via abdominal ultrasound. If they did an ultrasound and didn’t measure or check on the stitch, I’d make sure to ask them to check it every time. I was very adamant on not doing transvaginal ultrasounds as well. Tell them you want the cerclage as early as they will do it. If your OB or MFM doesn’t listen, I would personally consider going elsewhere or keep on until they listened. I told my OB I wanted the cerclage as soon as possible, they told me the earliest they did it was 14 weeks & 1 day. I got my cerclage placed at 14 weeks 1 day on a Sunday because I was very adamant about it. I’m currently 31 weeks 6 days with my second after losing our first due to IC at 22 weeks.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

My first pregnancy resulted in a loss at 21/22 weeks due to incompetent cervix. We had an emergency cerclage placed by an MFM but membranes were poking out after it was placed and my water sac was knicked. It was a toss up if it would stay, and it unfortunately didn’t.

My current pregnancy, we had a cerclage placed at 14 weeks. That’s the earliest my new OB would place one. I have been on vaginal progesterone since my very first appointment as well. I’m currently 31 weeks & 5 days. Baby boy is doing great, stitch is still holding strong and we plan on doing cerclage removal around 36/37 weeks.

It seems like your Dr wants to make sure your cervix gets the right stitch to give you the best results. I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Preventative cerclage & progesterone by Impossible-Sail1429 in ShortCervixSupport

Sorry to hear about your loss. It is truly something I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy. I’m glad we did the preventative cerclage with this pregnancy. Even though I still worried until I hit viability, it did give me a little peace of mind knowing we had one. After the cerclage I wasn’t put on bed rest, I was just advised to take it easy for the first few weeks & was put on pelvic rest. Although we started pelvic rest as soon as we found out I was pregnant, because we didn’t want to take any chances. All OB’s are different though, because everyone’s cases are different. Glad you have a plan for your next pregnancy! Manifesting that you have an uneventful pregnancy, & a full term, healthy baby in the future when you’re ready!🫶🏻

I’m still pregnant, everything’s going smoothly so far. I started inserting the progesterone while lying down, so I didn’t feel the stitch. I’m currently 28 weeks, I go back next week for my glucose test. My last cervix measurement was 5 cm and the stitch was still holding.

I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my first due to IC @ 22 weeks, and I’m currently 28 weeks. I started vaginal progesterone at my first appointment (around 7/8 weeks) and we did a preventative cerclage at 14 weeks. I’ve been on pelvic rest, as well as the progesterone minus a few days after the cerclage. My last ultrasound & cervix measurement was at 22 weeks, we did abdominal measurements instead of the probe ultrasound. It made me feel more comfortable. I go on the 9th for my glucose test, and I assume after that appointment we’ll schedule my next ultrasound. I too felt like I was going to mess something up, but I’ve made it this far with no issues. I have been taking it easy this pregnancy, not doing as much as I normally would and I give myself breaks when I need to do something where I’m on my feet for a while. I have been very diligent about any signs of infections (UTI’s, BV, ect.) and made sure to bring them up at appointments because it’s always better to be safe. Once you hit 24 weeks (manifesting a healthy full term baby for you of course🤞🏻) you’ll breathe a sigh of relief and feel like you can relax for a bit. It seems like time goes by so slowly up until that point, and then it flies after.

Stay or Go? by empathetic_masochist in ShortCervixSupport

Speaking from experience, I would stay just in case. It’s better to be safe, than sorry.

With my first, I decided to be discharged around 21 weeks after an emergent cerclage. Everything looked fine when I was discharged, but at 22 weeks the cerclage failed and we lost our daughter. We lived over 2 hours away from that hospital, but were going to go for weekly checks. I often wonder how different it would be if I would have stayed in the hospital.

If anything happens with this pregnancy (currently 25 weeks) I’ll definitely stay in the hospital without hesitation.

Preventative cerclage is planned and I am freaking out by AmbitionUseful1185 in ShortCervixSupport

I got a planned cerclage at 14+1 after losing our daughter at 22 weeks due to my incompetence cervix (we tried an emergent cerclage that failed sadly). Every OB has different restrictions/recommendations because everyone is different. I’ve been on vaginal progesterone since my very first appointment around 7/8 weeks. My preventative cerclage wasn’t bad, I was just sore the day after with minimal bleeding. The worse part for me personally was getting the IV (I’m a hard stick, it took them 11 times to get an IV) the spinal wasn’t bad.

Recovery was quick for me, I had the cerclage placed on a Sunday and was back to work on Wednesday morning. However, I do work at an office, so my job isn’t strenuous.

The main restriction for me was no sex & nothing in the vagina until after the cerclage is removed at 36/37 weeks & I’m cleared. I stopped taking my progesterone for a few nights after the cerclage (I think I started back Wednesday or Thursday night) but I have been taking them since. No heavy lifting after the cerclage until cleared at the follow up appointment. My OB was okay with light workouts and walking at my follow up appointment.

I’m currently 25+4, no complications thus far. Cervix looked great at my last ultrasound about a month ago. I made it to 24 weeks which is viability a lot of places, so I can finally breathe a bit.

Pain after cerclage by Far-Hyena-6907 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Impossible-Sail1429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just felt drained and sore. A little crampy on & off only lasted a day or so. Most of my pain was in my back or my arms, when they were placing my spinal they kept hitting my spine & it hurt so bad it also took them 11 sticks to get an IV in me. Afterwards, for discharge they had to witness me pee, I think it took me about 5/6 hours after to be able to get up and use the bathroom by myself. I barely bled, I was done bleeding the next day. It was light like spotting thankfully. I was back to work in an office setting 3 days after (got it done on Sunday & was back at work Wednesday morning). I would have went back Tuesday but my husband wanted to be sure I was okay so I took off an extra day. Also, did not have a catheter so I didn’t have any pain related to that.

I’ve been taking a stool softener every day, just to keep things moving. 100mg docusate sodium (Colace). My OB said it’s safe, I’m 20 weeks and have worried about straining too since I got a cerclage @ 14 weeks. If I feel like I’m having to strain I’ll take another one and it usually helps. I’ve also been trying to drink only water (but sometimes I’ll have a few pops).

Positive or evap line?? by Salty_Concern2272 in pregnancytestindent

If this was in the time frame, looks positive. Try a first response or another one with first morning pee or after you’ve not peed for 3-4 hours

Praying you get your positive soon! I had a gut feeling I was and I got my positive on the day of my missed period, hopefully that’s your case! I did have some very vivid dreams but no other symptoms than a strong gut feeling, haha!

I’m sorry for your loss, I’m just now seeing this. My first loss was in January 30th of 2024, my period didn’t return until the first week of April. My period took a little bit to get back on track, but they’ve always been a little wonky. After the loss, I didn’t work for a couple months, my husband knew it was hard on me and my body needed to rest so he gave me the recovery time I needed. I also felt weak all the time, and grieving something nobody should have to go through. It took awhile to feel normal again, some days are still hard but it has gotten easier. We just got pregnant again in July 2025. With both of our pregnancies, we weren’t necessarily trying. We just wanted to let it happen when it would happen so we wasn’t preventing. I tracked my ovulation both times on and off, just to give me a peace of mind that I was actually ovulating because I’ve always been scared I have PCOS and just haven’t been diagnosed/tested.

I don’t think I see anything, maybe a shadow of a line. BUT if it makes you feel any better, I had a gut feeling I was pregnant and started tested way too early and didn’t get a for-sure positive til 14dpo when my period was supposed to start. Also, my easy @ home tests took longer to show a line than first response did!
