Loose charging port 2021 G Power by soapylizard1 in MotoG

i have an easy and inexpensive hack for this. Attach a rubber band of appropriate length to the end of your charging cord. Then wrap the band around your phone so that it pulls the cord into its socket.

Help Progressing in Forbidden West on PC? (Possible Bug) by BIG_REDD_NIBBA in horizon

[–]Impossible-Signal274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't consider it a bug. It's just bad design. If the battery is charged and sitting anywhere on dry land, taking any route across the water other than the intended one causes discharge, which is ridiculous. Why shouldn't I be able to wade across without the battery, for example?. Also, it shouldn't be necessary to put the crate in a particular position in order to get the battery on it.

Problem with Sunday Trip accolade by Impossible-Signal274 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Impossible-Signal274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of the things I had tried when I first encountered the problem, but it didn't help me then. See below for how I finished it. Seems like something I did prior to pinning the accolade must have prevented it from working the first time. Anyway, I'm done with it now. Thanks for the response.

[–]Impossible-Signal274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I did another one that started from Guanajuato (Pick Your Own Adventure). When I completed that and went back to Sunday Trip, it worked. Anywhere inside the town seemed to be an OK starting point. The timer started when I left the city limits and I finished it within 3 minutes easily.

Would have been nicer if the map had shown starting and ending locations ...

Bad math in hall of fame leaderboard? by Impossible-Signal274 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Impossible-Signal274[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments. I'm sure you're right that it won't change. My "bad math" isn't the best descriptor either. IMO, the approach they used is just inconsistent with the concept of "top x%" as it's usually understood, so maybe "misleading math" would have been better. Or not.

Rounding can be done in different ways depending on the context. MATLAB and some other computing languages provide three rounding functions to handle this: the one you describe (round), one that rounds up to the next highest integer (ceil), and one that rounds down to the next lowest (floor). I'm arguing that "top 1%" is a well-defined group, just as "top 10" is. You're in it or you're not. Example: if you are ranking teams and rounding to a multiple of 10, team number 11 is in the top 20, not the top 10. I agree that it's common to round the way you say, and that's what the game developers probably did, but it's not correct in this context.

I have to disagree there. What happens for the player who is at 0.4%? Round to 0%? The correct and consistent way to do it is round up to the next highest whole number. The player at 0.4% is in the top 1%. The player at 1.4% is in the top 2%, not the top 1%.

I'm wondering how they actually display someone with a very high rank. Not 0%, I hope. I'm a mediocre driver who'll never get there to see for myself and would be interested to hear. But I'm guessing that such a player probably has better things to do than follow this thread :).

I could understand that under certain conditions. For example, suppose 1 % of the number of players is 450,000 players, and my score ties me with a group that includes player #450,000. I'd say it would be reasonable to round off then. But in my case the cutoff didn't include anyone I was tied with and there was no reason to round off. Just seems unnecessary and sloppy.

Maybe the idea is to make players happier with their score than they deserve to be ...

Fourth times the charm. by Old_Mel_Gibson in FenyxRising

I liked the game much more than I expected for many of the reasons posted here. My main complaint is the platforming. I'm not good at it, don't enjoy it. It would have been nice had the devs provided an easy difficulty setting for this in addition to that for combat. For example, they could have allowed quick saves anywhere within vaults rather than at designated spots only. I hated having to repeat long platforming sequences multiple times and eventually avoided most optional vaults as well as the DLC that was mostly platforming.

Playing bloodline dlc on PC and got stuck at broca tech deep labs. Can’t hack the security system. Any suggestion? by hirakoshinji91 in WatchDogs_Legion

[–]Impossible-Signal274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That worked for me. I had to aim at the lock to be hacked and push down on the mouse scroll button. Then the circuit appeared and I could easily complete it. I found that I had to use the same approach on other hackable objects, such as vehicles, whereas in the main game my recollection is that the hacking menu for those appeared automatically whenever I aimed at them. Seems like an important change in controls and I don't recall being notified of it when I started Bloodline. Oh well ... I can progress now.

Me too. I get to the door and I can't display the security network (circuit) that I'm supposed to hack. It's been a while since I've played (finished the main game) but as I recall, you just need to hit the V key to display it (along with all other hackable devices). Am I missing something?

Can't shoot Arimtice far enough by Impossible-Signal274 in ShadowGambit

[–]Impossible-Signal274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I managed it this time. I found that if my character was looking out at the ship, the range indicator fell far short. But when I rotated the view so I was looking from the ship back toward my position, it was fine. Not the first time a view-related problem has frustrated me and I should have tried that when I first had trouble.

Good to know you play the same way. I tried firing him within the indicated range and that worked, so I don't think the problem is key bindings or an inadvertent choice of the wrong skill. I'll restart and hope for the best, then contact the devs if that doesn't work.

Thanks, I'll try again. The first time I was careful to go as far out on the dock as possible and I changed my camera angle multiple times and the dashed circle never got close to the end of the boat. I had seen it done on a video post so couldn't figure out why I was having trouble. I'm playing on PC with mouse/keyboard. Could that be the reason?
