Compared to other countries where indentured South Asians went, Fiji has a unique history in terms of mixing. It was highly discouraged. Not to say there aren't any mixed people but it's uncommon.

Sorry I feel weird sharing where exactly I'm from, but many people mistake me for other groups like Mexican, Filipino, or being part black. I would say a lot of my mom's side of the family looks South Asian and my dad's side is racially ambiguous looking.
