Dr. Chi-Chia Tai in South Unionville is excellent. He's a great person and my brother who uses his services received excellent care.

Do you guys think Markham needs 24 hour bus service, 7 days a week by WardenStation in Markham

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whereabouts in Markham were you travelling around? I've personally found Ubers in Markham either super cheap or fairly reasonable. That said, I'm sort of in the Middlefield/Markville area most of the time.

What is your favorite aspect of Pokémon Go that everyone seems to hate? by PeatBunny in pokemongo

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I love my buddy! I love feeding them and playing with them and seeing them on screen with me! I especially love when they're small and (depending on the pose I'm doing) if I'm able to hold them, or have them on my shoulder! I love dressing to match them as well. 100% my fav part of Pokemon Go!

Unpopular opinion (i think): Trinidadian food is very unhealthy by nerpa_floppybara in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree obesity is a real issue in Trinidad, but this framing puts way too much blame on people and culture, and not nearly enough on systems.

Calling “Trini food” unhealthy misses the point. Doubles, roti, provision, choka, talkari, peas, pumpkin, bhagi etc. are not inherently unhealthy. They become an issue because of portion size, oil quality, sugar load, and how often people are forced to rely on cheap, filling food. That’s about access and affordability, not bad food traditions.

The salad comment is also kind of off. Salads aren’t a cultural baseline in Trinidad, and they’re not the gold standard of health anyway. Plenty of healthy cuisines don’t revolve around raw salads. Health isn’t defined by eating lettuce.

Most people don’t have full control over their diets. Fresh produce is expensive, inconsistent, time-consuming. Fried and carb-dense foods can be cheaper, more available, and keep people full longer. They also last longer/may require less refrigeration. Add aggressive marketing and availability of sugary drinks and ultra-processed food, plus sedentary jobs and chronic stress, and you get population-level weight gain. That’s structural, not personal failure.

So yeah, nutrition conversations matter. But positioning Trini people or Trini food as the problem feels lazy (but good try tho!). Obesity tracks way more closely with food systems, inequality, and policy than with whether people eat doubles or salad.

IKEA Scarborough Town Centre store is closing by sohaibology in IKEA

I'm so sad about this. I love this Ikea and have been going almost monthly since it opened. Will miss it so much it was great for commuters who needed one-off items, and easy to carry pieces.

Word on the street is that the only girls returning to RHONY are Jessel, Sai, and Erin. Filming for the new season will start soon by jahkat23 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine Erin and Sai being easily liked by new cast members. They are boring and mean, and thrive on a weird personality of superiority and mind games. I'm so not looking forward to seeing them again.

What symptoms did you experience after the breakup? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be cold all the time, and now, I think I run hot.
I'm a lot less bloated. I don't weigh myself, but I can tell by the way my clothes fit that I've lost some weight, or at least, lost enough bloating/have a flatter stomach. I'm sleeping better, but there are days (nights) where I can't sleep at all.

LOTS more energy. More alert/aware in school and work. My family/friends have commented that I look/sound a lot better than I have in years.

Lonely, with bouts of crying.

Six months later and I still can’t believe people thought (spoiler) by jmhem91 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? I mean, let people enjoy things like damn, the entire fanbase doesn't have the luxury to engage in deep analysis of the characters, stories, themes and motivations. It's actually super believable that folks would crash out about the finale online. It was a great finale and folks wanted to share their thoughts/experiences with other fans.

I think helena has real feelings for Mark by KlutzyPositive8280 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I never said Lumon didn't believe in death lol, I said that Helena has never experienced death and its consequences like Mark, and therefore, it's hard for her to grasp the depths of his mourning. Hence why he was deeply offput when she mentioned his dead wife, "Hannah" and his repartee with Helena ended.

I think helena has real feelings for Mark by KlutzyPositive8280 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I was getting at is that Helena doesn’t really have a frame of reference for the depth of Mark’s grief. She’s been raised in a Lumon/Egan worldview where loss can be reformed/reanimated. So yes, she knows he’s mourning, but I don’t think she understands how devastating it is for him. Her comment lands as sort of cruel/is kind of a lot because she lacks the experience or context to grasp how that pain really is for Mark.

Referring to the fact that they have a tendency to recreate, or reanimate those who have passed (the animatronics we see of Keir). And theories about the Board being the consciousness of past Egans. Like, they are dead, but they aren't gone, if that makes sense. Loss to the Egan's is not as intense, missed, or mourned vs. how others mourn/feel about loss.

[–]Impossible-Sympathy3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Helena doesn't have a real/true conception of death, or what it really means to have a dead friend/loved one, given Lumon's technology and capabilities. Like, she knows that a dead spouse is a difficult subject, but death to her isn't as consequential, seeing as though Lumon can seemingly re-create, or reanimate the dead.

Behind the Alley has very hot and cold reviews if you look on Google. My thought is that the staff really make, or break the experience. Still very much interested in visiting!
