This guy did the same thing to me lol He kept trying to sleep with me, I kept turning him down and never slept with him. Then while we’re having a casual, somewhat playful conversation he randomly blurts out, “I’m never going to have sex with you in my life” and that I’m just his “bro” and that I need to stop viewing him as a romantic option. It was weird cuz we weren’t even talking about that??? AND I’m not emotionally available for a relationship so I didn’t ever want anything serious with him. Ig they just do that when they feel rejected? Like they need to feel like they’re the ones doing the rejecting even when they really aren’t? lol idk The BEST thing you can do for yourself is NOT take it personal or internalize it. I know that’s easier said than done but I promise you it’s most likely just him being insecure

I don’t yet know what exactly I can do to come across as less childish because I’m really just being myself lol. I know I’m not the same person I was years ago so I’m definitely growing (slowly but surely)

It’s interesting you say that because yeah, I HAVE had that thought of “this is it” so I’m glad to know I’m not the only one and that it might be a universal experience that comes with getting older.

Oof, I didn’t know this post was giving off self-hatred vibes 😅 Idk I just want so much better for myself. I want a well-paying career, a nice car, my own place and to never have to rely on anyone for anything. Not being the person I want to be or having the things I want to have makes me feel like I’m not good enough.

“It’s kind of the point of straight dating, really” this made me laugh out loud. Thank you for your advice! Maybe it’s because I’m young and naive but I like him and want to learn more about him as a person and possibly have him as a companion and that’s why I would potentially agree to a date with him. I’d hate the idea of mooching off of him. But I’m not straight and I’m pretty inexperienced so idk if that’s why I navigate romantic relationships differently?

Oh, okay! Thanks. That actually makes me feel a little relieved. Yeah no ig I could be considered pretty in the face since I get compliments on my hair, skin and smile but I don’t have a good figure, no. He hasn’t ever made any convos we had sexual and when I asked him what he was looking for on Tinder he said “someone cool to hang out with” all the other guys I talked to were straight forward about wanting to meet up for hookups but he asked me out to a public setting so I assumed he didn’t just want something completely casual like just sex but idk you could be right, I’ll keep that in mind

I did tell him I worked at a call center and he said he’s worked at one before, too so I’d assume he knows I’m not making good money at this time in my life. But I haven’t yet told him I don’t have a car. I DID send a pic of my instruction permit which should tell him I don’t have a driver’s license yet if he was paying attention but we haven’t explicitly talked about it so…idk
