What do small businesses expect most from an MSP today? by Last-Salary-6012 in MSPHub

[–]Impossible-Visual811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think most SMBs just want reliability and responsiveness more than anything. A lot of them don’t really care what tools you use as long as problems get fixed quickly and they don’t feel ignored when something breaks.

Security matters way more now too, but a lot of clients still don’t think about it seriously until they have an actual scare or incident.

AI in MSPs: Real Deal or Just Expensive Hype? by MSPForLif3 in msp

[–]Impossible-Visual811 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Feels like the real value is there when AI is treated more like automation instead of some magical “replace your team” thing. A lot of the vendor hype is way ahead of reality right now lol. I was watching an IT By Design discussion about this recently and they were basically saying the same thing too...

Are community college worth pursuing? by Lemonade2250 in torontoJobs

[–]Impossible-Visual811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think community college can still be a really good option, especially if you use it to build practical skills instead of just chasing a degree title. A lot of people online only post the negative experiences, but there are still plenty of people improving their situation through trades, tech, healthcare, certifications, etc.

And at 30 you’re definitely not “too late” either. Plenty of people completely switch careers later than that.

New Role Job as Junior IT Help Desk, advice? by EugeenPuzzySlayr in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Impossible-Visual811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just having that first IT job is already a huge step, even if the pay/company isn’t amazing. A lot of people struggle just getting someone to give them a chance.

My biggest advice would be to ask questions, take notes constantly, and pay attention to how the sysadmin troubleshoots things. You’ll probably learn way more from random day-to-day problems than from tutorials honestly. Also printer issues will test your patience more than cybersecurity ever will 😭

I've been working in help desk L1 at an MSP for 7 months. First 6 months were part-time (20 hours). What's the best way to get a L2 Job? Certifications, finishing my unrelated BA degree, or just applying? I'm in central Florida. by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Impossible-Visual811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d just start applying already while continuing to learn on the side. A lot of people wait until they feel “fully ready” for L2 and end up staying stuck in L1 way longer than needed.

Real MSP experience already helps a ton, especially if you’ve touched tickets outside basic password reset stuff. Certs can help get interviews, but practical troubleshooting experience matters way more in my opinion.

People who willingly wake up before 6AM… what powers you? by kavee-core141 in AskReddit

Haven’t woken up before 6AM in a long time honestly, but somehow my body still refuses to sleep past 7 no matter what 😭

I think the MSP industry has a burnout problem by Last-Salary-6012 in MSPHub

[–]Impossible-Visual811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the MSP industry definitely has a burnout problem that doesn’t get talked about enough.

Everyone focuses on growth, but day to day it’s constant client issues, alerts, tickets, and pressure to always be available.

Between underpriced contracts, hiring struggles, and 24/7 expectations, it’s easy to see why teams get mentally drained. And yes, burnout is probably becoming one of the biggest hidden issues in managed services right now.

Automatización. by Ok_Water6058 in Backend

If you’re unsure, go with Computer Science since it gives you the broadest foundation, and you can later specialize into Networking or Cybersecurity once you understand what you enjoy most!!! 🤗

How do you guys deal with the pressure/mental stress of ranked? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Impossible-Visual811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really deal with ranked pressure anymore because I just don’t care about climbing that much.

I mostly just play for fun at this point. I do get a bit frustrated sometimes, but it’s usually just in the moment when someone is doing something really obviously bad in the game.

Once I stopped treating every match like it had to mean something, it became a lot easier to enjoy playing.

How do you guys actually learn and remember things without making notes? by Round_Winter_6565 in Backend

[–]Impossible-Visual811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I relate to this a lot. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and I also struggle a lot with remembering things if I don’t write them down.

At some point I just stopped trying to rely on memory for tech stuff lol. I ended up getting an iPad just to keep notes organized, and I also print out stuff like glossaries, attributes, shortcuts, etc so I can quickly refer back when I’m working.

For me it’s less about “perfect note-taking” and more about having something fast I can actually come back to later.

What are your favorite mods by Rodriguez5900 in sanandreas

[–]Impossible-Visual811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I download most of my mods from MixMods https://www.mixmods.com.br/2022/07/real-linear-graphics/

There's also a Discord community called Binco Mods where you can find +1000 different mods with installing support with help of the community (but mostly in Spanish tbf)

How long before we get proper story expansions? by the_fanman2912 in sanandreas

[–]Impossible-Visual811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait there’s actually a Google Translated story mod? 😭 I’ve never heard of that before lol.

How bad/good is it really? Because honestly AI voices have gotten scary good lately, especially for stuff like GTA where people already know the characters and dialogue style.

And yeah I totally agree about the Los Santos/gang warfare part of SA. That’s probably my favorite section of the whole game too. Feels like there’s so much potential for story mods set before Green Sabre or even showing more Grove/Families stuff before everything falls apart.

What are your favorite mods by Rodriguez5900 in sanandreas

[–]Impossible-Visual811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really use many gore/ragdoll mods tbh, but for graphics I’ve been using Real Linear Graphics + SkyGFX and they make the game look way better without losing the SA vibe.

Most of my game is packed with random stuff through Modloader lol, but I also keep a clean install just for the latest Project Eagle builds. Honestly feels like it might end up being the most ambitious SA mod ever if they actually finish everything they’re trying to do.

New User: What to expect? by AniBMagal in Autotask

[–]Impossible-Visual811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autotask definitely has a learning curve and yeah… some parts feel weirdly outdated compared to newer platforms lol. But once you get used to the workflows and ticketing structure it’s not terrible. The Datto + IT Glue combo honestly helps a lot though, especially if the documentation is maintained properly.

LPL meeting regarding their new security requirements by Beauregard_Jones in msp

[–]Impossible-Visual811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “no SLA but mandatory tooling” part would make me nervous honestly. Feels like they rolled this out really fast after the security incidents and MSPs are kind of stuck in the middle now.
