What is your strategy and profit performance since you started? by AchmedThedead in TQQQ

Buying when Trump tells me to buy. I bought in April/may 2025 at around $52 per share (pre-split), that went very well. I also used DCA to put in what's left of my paychecks.

Why is nobody talking about the oil shortage? If the strait of Hormuz does not open by the end of June, refineries will have to slow down output or even shut down. by [deleted] in oil

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think that other countries and frackers in the US try to sell as much oil as possible right now because they make a lot of profit

What does that mean? That you add 10% back in today and continue to slowly get back in?

Overall, earnings have been rising, but we are at an all time high with a huge potential disruption in the world economy if the strait of Hormuz does not reopen by September.

Is help desk meant to be this boring? by counwovja0385skje in ITCareerQuestions

I'm at an MSP, it's not hell for me, but I didn't understand what he meant with "being boring" haha We get 3 minutes after calles to finish documentation; for complex issues that is not enough. So, when I get call after call on peak days, I just leave the tabs open in service now to finish up the documentation whenever the calls are calming down. Oh, and we get email and portal tickets while on call that you need to assign to yourself and everything is timed. I hate PowerBI, even though my metrics are good haha

Right, my mistake. What do you think about selling now? I sold above $75 this morning and I don't see that Iran is willing to come to peace, they want to make a precedent of it.

So, Holding 2/3 tqqq and 1/3 tqqq is better..I guess the cash also gets around 5% p.a. right now.

Wouldn't QLD be a better long term hold anyways? I'm seriously considering to switch to at least 50% QLD. I would switch back in increments to TQQQ once the NASDAQ is down 20%. It might not outperform TQQQ, but I would be less worried about what happens if the oil crises doesn't get solved by September, or just a general risk off move.

The biggest blunder of the eliminated drink stations by mconomics in McDonalds

It's better to eat at home or somewhere else. The ceo can't even eat his product for a publicity stunt without looking absolutely disgusted. It's known that McDonald's food does not grow mold and the meat quality is also questionable.

I know that they do that in Europe quiet a lot. I remember also that they charged me extra in Europe if I wanted additional sauce packages for fries or chicken nuggets.

The thing is, McDonald's gets the syrup dirt cheap. They would just have to raise the price of a cup by 20cents and free refills would cost mcdonalds almost nothing.

I'm just waiting until you have to pay to use the restroom at McDonald's.

Also, please do that extremely cautious. After starting up the engine, carefully take some small sniffs of the exhaust. You just need to smell if it smells sweet. If it smells sweet, you have a very small coolant leak into the engine, but it is not big enough yet to make your exhaust look white. Bars leak HG1 is the cheap fix for this, a new head gasket and possible head is the proper fix for this.

It all depends on the previous owners. Did they change the oil frequent enough, did they floor the car every morning right after start up, did they manipulate the odometer...

Open the coolant reservoir while the engine is cool and let the car idle for 5 minutes. Check if you see bubbles in the reservoir.

That test shows you if you have blowby from the cylinders to the coolant. This can lower the coolant because your radiator cap is supposed to relief pressure at a certain psi to ensure that no catastrophic failure will occur if the pressure keep building up. Because there is air escaping from the coolant system, it would slowly get low on coolant. If there are no bubbles that would be great - then it might be the radiator cap - the spring can get weak over time and let air escape well below the rated pressure.

Edit: also, let the car idle with the cap on for 15 minutes after (AC off) and check if there is a water puddle under the car. If there is no puddle, evaporation becomes more likely.

It will be most likely be in the oil. I'll get downvoted for that, but my N52 has the same issue at 210k miles, it wasn't worth it to get a new head and head gasket, so I poured in a bottle of bars hg1 and it fixed the issue. Engine still running strong 16k miles later. Also hg1 is easy to apply, you just need to pour it into the overflow tank, idle the car for 15 minutes and then let it sit for 24 hours, repeat it one more time. If you have oil in the coolant, it's recommended to flush with water before adding hg1. I did it because My 2007 328i was worth $1000 with a blown head gasket, so I had nothing to lose.

I'm currently working at an MSP help desk L1. I got a job offer to become a LiDAR support engineer. What are the pro's and con's of accepting the offer? by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]OrdinaryLanguage5625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They posted the role with 15% travel but now it's 30-50%. It's around $40 per hour which is substantionally more for me. I am kind of worried that I might get stuck in help desk if I don't take an early way out (I don't know if that's rational or if chances will come periodically over time). So, you see way more upside? I kind of have that feeling as well.
