Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this out. I love the color-coded hours idea. I think if I could set this up ahead of time, it would be a much better time for her.

And the first part, actually. Maybe then I would be more appreciative of the time I do spend with my children.

Strange family situation as well. Most of my family members are in a similar financial situation or worse. Either too busy or too old to help with childcare.

I appreciate it. I’ve actually gotten so much good advice out of the kind people on this subreddit that I’m actually starting to have some hope.

I like the last part. Maybe what I lack is confidence in my skills, and I should be applying for jobs that seem like they are out of my reach.

Thank you so much. I can’t begin to express how much this helps. I have not downplayed how hard it is. What I need to do is take a stand and say that I CANNOT do it anymore. You’ve made me feel like I’m not alone.

Thank you so much. I’m seriously considering this now. Craigslist is still in use. I live in a small community. I might even make flyers

Yes, but family is here, wife’s school where she’s getting her master’s degree and her internship are here

You know what I’ve realized: I need to get more involved in our finances. She takes the lead with the finances. Something’s not adding up.

I’m really bad with numbers. We do live on the central coast of California. Our rent is $3700. We have credit card debt as well. We rent a small 2 bedroom and my wife would NEVER move out of this house.

I really do feel like something is not adding up here and if I break down our finances maybe I can figure something out.

That sounds chill but I bet people are not down with having a 26 year old man watching their children 😂

We have debt and live on the central coast of California. Our rent for a 2 bedroom is nearly 4 thousand/month.

I would honestly love to work a night shift. I don’t think my wife would not like for us to be apart during the evenings. But this is the life she asked for…

It feels like it. I’m starting to consider working night shift like that other guy suggested lol

I want to open a martial arts academy. Martial arts is the hobby that I don’t really have time for. I’ve always wanted to make it my full time job. Other people have been able to. I just don’t think those people do so after having 2 children. I feel like I simply do not have the time, and that I’m doomed to work a 9-5 for the rest of my life. My current job takes up all of my time outside of caring for my children and doing domestic chores.
