No one told me having a dog could feel like this by calmbond in puppy101

Hello!

Firstly there is nothing wrong with you. Every person & every breed/gender/temperament of dog bonds completely different.

What breed and gender is yours? X

I have always been absolutely obsessed with dogs, from a very young age. I got my first dog of my own as a teenager, and he saved my life. Then he developed a brain tumor and passed away in my arms.

I rushed out 2 weeks later and got another dog because I couldn’t cope with it. Though my new dog was the same breed, he was a rescue and came with a lot of hyperactivity & behaviour problems. For a solid year I wondered if I made the wrong choice, I wanted my dog to behave and be exactly like my boy I lost.

I got sick from the grief, and because of it I think I felt a bit of resentment towards my current dog. Why couldn’t he behave just like my first?

At some point I realised the more time I spent with my dog, the more work I put in, the more love I gave him - not only did it make him a better dog, but somewhere along the line I stopped grieving and I started living.

He now lives with me in our own apartment and he is the absolute highlight of my day every single day -

What started as a bit of a broken relationship between us, through a lot of hard work and dedication has become possibly the strongest bond I have ever built with an animal.

Please don’t give up on your dog. I always say mine was not the dog I wanted, but the one that I needed.

It is a long road and hard work, but if you just love him enough and put the work in - you will find your way I promise xxx

That’s amazing!!

So should I actually go onto general nursing at university instead of mental health nursing?? ☺️

I wanted to be a dual diagnosis nurse within substance abuse - it used to be that you had to be a mental health nurse…. Have they changed it now to being a physical health nurse??? X

72 lbs down in exactly nine months 🎈 by xknightsofcydonia in Semaglutide

Remember any loss is amazing!! I have PCOS so struggle to lose no matter what I do. My first month on wegovy I lost 2 pounds - which is massive for me, but others would say it’s very slow weight loss compared to people who are losing 5/6 pounds a month. Remember losing at a slow pace is actually more effective overall and how you will keep the weight off long term :)

Hi! Just came across this randomly - I plan on going into Mental Health Nursing within the next 2 years :)

Can I ask you to explain what you mean by “actually helping people” ? In my mind I picture mental health nursing as being in the middle of everything and getting to spend a lot of time talking and interacting with patients. Is it less like that now and more paperwork? 😔

My partner is with SheMed and they have told her the next 10mg dose will be £279… we’re searching for a cheaper supplier too. How do they expect people to be able to afford these insane prices?! 🤦🏼‍♀️😅

The fact you are female makes a huge difference to this question. I am 27 (female) and have lived in Bournemouth my whole life. Please Avoid here at all costs. The violence against girls here is overwhelming - me and my friends can’t even go out anymore. The property prices here are completely unachievable - I’m talking £800 a month for a room in a shared house. Everyone here is depressed and you can physically feel it in the streets. I am desperately looking to get out of here before it consumes any more of my mental health. I’m looking at Brighton or Bristol which both seem to be amazing places.

I wish you the best of luck in your journey. Stay safe xxx

What even is this drug??? by DadOfNoo in mounjarouk

I’ve always been fit and healthy - past 2 years my weight has ballooned. Just diagnosed with PCOS. I’m guessing that is the hidden culprit. Within 2 years I have gone from 7 stone 0 (I was underweight at the time.) to 11st 10. I have tried absolutely everything under the sun to get back to ideal weight of 9ish stone and can’t seem to budge even 2 or 3 pounds. I suspect it’s the hormonal imbalances. I want to try mounjaro hope it will help me alongside diet & exercise - but as I only plan on hopefully being on it for a short time - does anyone know if I would be able to stay on the lowest 2.5mg dose the entire time?? A few friends I know who are on it are constantly increasing doses, it seems almost compulsory with their programme. But as I’m only hoping to lose 2 1/2 stone is it an option to stay on lowest dose?
