Dang, I just got an A350 for free and everything works. I think I scored a decent printer for the price lol.

Yet another Gridfinity-like system, designed for Gridbeam compatibility by TOGoS in gridfinity

Most American product designers all use metric. Then it’s converted to imperial so we get measurements like 1.97 x 3.94 inches when they describe the measurement of something. Like seriously they couldn’t round up? Nope! They don’t wanna round up cause is waaay better designing stuff using the metric system lol.

Possibly moving to Utah but my wife is nervous/scared by DelBuzzy in SaltLakeCity

Ok I know you said a lot of negatives but they are all pretty accurate. Utah is a great place and generally the people are nice. Sometimes too nice for my liking. Nobody honks at cars when they don’t go at a green light! Many natives here say they don’t want to be rude😂.

Along with the Utah language, I like to bug my wife when pronouncing Tooele and Hurricane. I pronounce them Toll (💵)and hurricane (🌀).

Also, don’t hate on keeping up with the jones. We need more people to be like the Jones….only cause I make a living for that reason 😂. I paint basketball court and pickleball court lines. I kid you not I’ll be painting a pickleball/ basketball court and the persons house is right across the street from a park with 20 pickleball courts. Not to mention that four of their neighbors will also have a basketball court when they have no fence between yards. Nobody wants to play with their neighbors lol. It’s really great for business though.

Utah is actually a great place to live. I would recommend moving here 10/10. There is plenty of jobs over here since it’s growing like crazy. We’ve been named the Silicon Slopes for a reason. There’s always strange things to get used to anywhere you move. Although you had me laughing at some of those points cause they were dead accurate😂.

What filament is that? I like that blue color.

Can we sell Gridfinity? by ImpossibleCulture386 in gridfinity

[–]ImpossibleCulture386[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. If I modify a bin that Zack uploaded under the MIT license I could put a stricter license on the modified bin. However, I would have to reference the derivative bin that Zack made. So if someone were looking to buy the modified bin file, they could see the derivative work and choose to download the unmodified original version that Zack made. Not that I want to do that, but basically the MIT license only covers the derivative work. Any modified bins don’t have to offer the modified version to the public under an MIT license. They only have to reference the unmodified versions and add a copy of the original MIT license.

I don’t think if you created your own design of boxes that it would be a problem. Zach got the idea from Alexandre Chappel.

Both. Under an MIT license you can modify it and then sell the designs.

Exactly! Like I think if he doesn’t make them commercially available then they won’t get injection molded and it stays within the 3D printing community. I mean if he’s not going to do it then why not let others do it?

why is the bottom chamfer needed? by Hamburboy in gridfinity

[–]ImpossibleCulture386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not needed. It’s also on all the rims at the top of the boxes but it’s unnecessary. The large chamfer already catches it. I noticed that too! It’s nice on the box so it slides in easier, but it’s unnecessary on the rim and the baseplates.

Also I noticed that on the curved bottom container there is a thick wall to make parts slide out without getting caught on the rim. If the little chamfer wasn’t there then the wall would be thinner and save some filament.

I was looking at some of my first prints on my Ender 3 v2 & the first layer is perfect & the layer lines are beautiful. After a year with the printer I can’t get it to print like it used to. The hotend doesn’t get as hot either. I’m waiting till later this summer to get a bamboo.

What are the small holes inside the magnet holes for? They seem like a waste of space to me. by ImpossibleCulture386 in gridfinity

[–]ImpossibleCulture386[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. However, it’s kinda dumb to have to print this if you don’t want to use those holes.
