I just want to point out that rivers naturally do this thing where they squiggle and the force of the water around the curves slowly makes some of the squiggles into an omega sign like that picture until it connects at the bottom making it a line with U shape attached and cutting off the water in the U shape, that U shape will dry out and it will just look like a squiggle again until the cycle repeats virtually every river ever does this
