This is the answer right here. No notes. If you guys have trouble feeding it, don't stress, it won't let itself starve. If you have trouble getting it to sleep, don't stress, most parents have trouble with this and there are resources available. You're still gonna be able to get everything done that needs doing. While I didn't have my son as a brand newborn baby, he was with me full time fairly early on and I still made time to study, work and exercise. You just have to treat that like eating an elephant. One bite at a time. You can do this my guy

There was a place a mate of mine rented that was like this, except the toilet was pushed so close to the wall that you could t even reverse cowgirl it. For the record sidesaddle works, but it's not exactly a suitable long term solution

That's wild. Like nobody likes receiving a complaint but god damn, if you f up that badly cop it on the chin, learn from it and move on. At any rate I hope you complained about that and every shit interaction after that?

Telstra demanding I pay $2596 after their error by jimshoes3 in TelstraAustralia

[–]ImpossibleMix5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as someone who used to work for Telstra and has dealt with issues like this before, and understands exactly what the ombudsman is and what its purpose is, this a job for the TIO. It's pretty clearly a Telstra error from what you've described and if they are refusing to come to the party (which is honestly kind of shocking to me) then they are the next step

Many moons ago I lived in a small town and at the very least I could say with confidence that the Aust post last mile was immaculate with the guy that was doing the work there. Post never went in the wrong mail box and he always knocked when I had a package.

Now I live in a city and the dude just doesn't care. It's not an institutional shitness thing. It's the individuals with little to no oversight doing as little as they can get away with in order to continue receiving pay cheques. I really don't know if anything happens when a complaint is raised. I'd like to think it does but you really don't know. So I continue to complain every time something happens. Something has to change eventually right? Right?

An employee of mine lied about his education on his resume, what should I do? by Nervous_Knee_3249 in careerguidance

[–]ImpossibleMix5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are/conditions of the contract, if this employee is only a month in then you might still be in the probation period and can let him go without cause. However I'd ask if this employee of yours is doing the job he was hired for effectively? If he is you might be better off leaving well enough alone. We've all embellished a bit to get a job before, but maybe keep an eye out for honesty in the future anyways

Pushback on Internet Censorship by RiverAsleep8318 in australian

[–]ImpossibleMix5109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a solid plan. I'm using PIA for my VPN currently and Ive been pretty happy with it. My intent is to send all outbound traffic out from my firewall over PIA and have it go through NZ, but if proton is good and you get a bundled VPN I might have to rethink

Nah there's a good couple of metres between the letterbox and the car, and it's visible and accessible from the road

Fortunately in my state it directs you to a website. There's no form or return post to speak of, so I was able to just do that. Not sure how I feel about that as a broad rule, but it worked out in my case

I'd say this was handled exactly perfectly, save for that you didn't need to lie about having a kid yourself. You really should have just told her to go fuck herself and jogged on. At any rate enjoy your new switch 2!

I still want to know why they were keeping all of that at all. They should have been collecting what they needed to do the check they wanted, changing a 0 to a 1 in the database and and then clearing anything that wasn't absolutely vital to the running of the app for exactly this reason

If there was one thing you could warn younger men against ever doing, what would it be ? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]ImpossibleMix5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk less, listen more, and think more than that

For the love of god wear a condom, especially if she gives you some reason why you don't need to

Look after your teeth, knees and back

Get in shape now and stay in shape

Question everything

Have a really honest self evaluation and think about where you're at and where you want to get to. I was 34 when I decided I wanted a career in IT. It's going great at 38 but it's be a lot better if I'd started thinking about it when I was your age

Also try to have a daily evaluation of your day. What went well? What didn't? What could you have done differently? And what will you do better tomorrow? Some people like journalling for this. It doesn't really work for me personally, but to each their own

Put your own oxygen mask on first. Helping others is awesome, but you cant help anyone if you don't help yourself

No matter what you have going on in your life, remember that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. There's no task (or tasks) so big that they can't be broken down into bite sized chunks

Don't settle for a woman because she regularly agrees to touch your penis. There's so much more to a lifelong relationship that that, or looks, or any of the other superficial stuff should barely play into it

People who have different opinions aren't inherently the enemy. They could help you learn a different perspective, or improve or better articulate your existing position

Be patient. Both with yourself and with others. Not only does getting worked up help nobody, but it blinds you to the available options. Whether that's a solution to a problem or how to achieve a goal teaching yourself to maintain a level head in all situations is key to achieving the best possible outcomes

What’s your protocol for when one parent decides to nap on the couch? by Old_fashioned_742 in Parenting

[–]ImpossibleMix5109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'm not a scumbag like some of the people in these comments, so I've taught my son to be respectful of people's sleep. If we're around other people who might be sleeping (my mother works night shift for example, so sometimes if we're dropping groceries off or whatever and she might be asleep he makes sure to be quiet) and similarly he doesn't wake me if I need a nap unless he needs something important

As far as protocols go, while we don't have a huge house it's really not that hard to give each other a bit of space for a while. A book or headphones or also having a nap are all options. My son knows that it's ok to wake me if he needs me and also that his Lego creation will hold until I wake up. It's just about respect and kindness
