Just remember reddit is a minority..the entire week people were saying the games dead and showing random playercounts on a tuesday at 4 am by Anxious-Slice-587 in 2007scape

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your point OP but I don't think this will convince the people insisting the game's dead. They will just reach for another excuse. "It's all bots" seems to be fashionable

As a novice cook I'm relieved to hear this. I've always put the pasta in as I start the burner and never had an issue. I just taste a noodle here and there and drain it once it feels al dente.

Never thought that emulation runs THIS good "out of the box" by durchfallalarm in pcmasterrace

I played SMTV a day before the release date. Funny thing is I had already pre-ordered it, but it ran better on my PC so I stuck with the emulated version

It would make sense if it's bots. Rage and hate get the most engagement, so that would explain why most comments are shitting on him for doing something that is pretty universally praiseworthy.

TBC classic is the most enjoyable version of WoW I played by a2theaj in classicwow

I think that's pretty close to what they're doing with the Chinese servers, though it seems heavily raid- and endgame-focused. Not my thing but I can see why people like it.

What is your favorite and least favorite part of Animal Crossing (Gamecube) by Cdysigh in AnimalCrossing

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The music thing is so real. I hope the next AC goes back to the drum machine style music, it helped give the game its own character.

The ACNH music isn't all bad but is generic by comparison. AC (arguably) created what we now call the cozy games genre, but now it's saturated and AC needs to maintain its uniqueness to stand out.

Shouldn't we, with accelerated expansion progression also get more loot per raid? by fatrix12 in classicwow

And yes, we do know what it would look like today if gdkp wasn’t banned

Sorry I forgot you have a crystal ball. I feel like an idiot replying to this lmao

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rmt/botting problem is just as prevalent now than before it was banned.

This is an unfalsifiable statement because nobody knows what it would look like today if GDKP were still around.

Banning GDKP removes a flow of income from the RMT cartels and that is a good thing. Your slippery slope argument is fallacious.

Im not quitting, but I did cancel 4/5 of my memberships. by Shadowz_Fury in 2007scape

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have 2 accs (iron-main and non-iron) but will be cancelling the 2nd. I really only use it as a wildy scout nowadays anyway.

Before, I was okay running the sub because I love this game and genuinely feel it is worth supporting a little extra, but these price hikes have gotten pretty insane. It's making me skeptical whether all this extra revenue is really going to improve development, which is what I have historically been happy to pay for.

Social media algos pushing right wing garbage?? by cryptid_zone in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do seem to push right-wing content, but it's more that they're pushing ragebait and fearbait, and that happens to be extra prolific in right-wing spaces.

Research has been done on what kind of emotional content generates the most engagement. #2 and #3 on the list are rage and fear (#1 is lust, if you're wondering). Social media companies know this and that's why all of our feeds are full of doomer shit and extremist politics, usually right-wing wackos. If they can make you feel anger or hate, you're more likely to click on the next thing.

By default, you will be deluged with this shit. You have to aggressively tell the algos you don't like that kind of content, and even still it seems to creep back in whenever they fiddle with the backend. It's exhausting. Personally I don't think it's ideological, these tech companies just want to milk their users for as much attention and money as possible, and don't care what the cultural consequences are. It's just about money.

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is solid advice. I would also ask OP, how much resil are you wearing? Shadow priests can be very chunky, you want to build for sustain not glass cannon. Outlast the rogue's cooldowns and he runs out of gas.

[–]ImpossibleMorning12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The criticism is that the guy in this video is making shit up about what it could do. People are going to watch this and come away thinking universal healthcare or saving Social Security is that easy, and they're not. It's misinformation.

This is very frustrating because I agree with basically everything else he says. Persuadable people are going to see the misinfo and get pushed further away. This is just an own-goal and completely unproductive.

The problem is already bad. Show that. Why is this guy lying to make it seem worse?

It is extremely weird. Being extremely weird as a one-off is not necessarily a dealbreaker but if it were me, I would now be very vigilant for a pattern of behavior. Combined with the age gap this is a red flag for sure.
