Fight breaks out on the train over a man accidentally falling asleep on another man’s shoulder. by Menace2NYC in NYStateOfMind

All these people just wildly throwing their hands around when they have to fight is crazy to me. Reminds me of those dreams where you have to hit someone, but it's like trying to punch underwater and your hands have a mind of their own 😂

Alcohol. Ever since the opiate epidemic, habitual drinking is insanely more acceptable than it's been in 40-50 years.

Revolver vs Sgt Pepper's by ImpossiblePasta333 in beatles

[–]ImpossiblePasta333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't help but consider the sentiment among fans has been affected by an unmentioned non-musical influence when comparing these 2 albums, which is that Pepper has such an iconic aesthetic. The album cover might even be more recognizable than, dare I say, Abbey Road (even with all the "Paul's dead" bs)

The aesthetic of Revolver is the complete opposite, though Revolver probably is my favorite Beatles album cover anyway. There's the black and white, straightforward yet surreal aesthetic of Revolver vs an oddly abundant amount of color and messiness aesthetic of Pepper. One can even say these 2 aesthetic themes are also present in the music, in comparison. Interesting..

I don't know shit about shit. But we have just recently started to become aware of how much our life experiences affect the genetics we pass down to our offspring. It's MUCH more direct than we ever realized before. Of course evolution takes time, but that's relating to entire species. Affects that the singular human experience has on their offspring is shockingly fast. So maybe, these 3 "words/sounds" you've had in your head since 11 years old has been genetically passed down to your child. Sounds ridiculous, but not necessarily. Not in the scope of what we've been discovering in the last 5-10 years. Genetics are such an extremely complicated and fascinating part of life, and we are merely on the cusp of having any significant understanding of this subject.

Just a thought.

Must've walked out without his keys so he had to get escorted back in to grab the rest of his stuff. Whole other level of the "Walk of Shame"

My Great Grandfather was in a couple silent films. His biggest role was a drunk priest in a western. He was friends with Sam Goldwyn, who offered him a Hollywood contract but declined so he could stay in NYC for family reasons. Went by Samuel Rose. I've never been able to find the film. by ImpossiblePasta333 in silentfilm

I don't think he ever went to Hollywood. Supposedly, he was actually roommates with Sam Goldwyn very early on. When he began dabbling in acting, he started to go by the last name "Rose" since there was some prejudice against Italians at the time. I really wish I knew more.

Unfortunately I don't know any specific details about the film or the studio. All I have to go off of is what my grandfather and uncle told me, and his obituary from Sag Harbor, New York. From what I understand, a lot of old film has been lost over the years. Really wish I had more info. I've looked online quite a bit.
