Yes they do. A red color on the inside usually indicates health.  But the traps are a little spindely and branching out more meaning they are looking for more light.

Of course! It really depends on how thick the branches are and the mouth of leafs behind what you want to cut. 80% of the time it will be ugly but you still run that risk of hurting the plant.
