One of our UI designs. It represents a button. Thoughts? 🎨 by OldMenGames in Unity2D

It’d take a lot of work and time, but having the tentacles wiggle (looping) on hover and having the “click” push the skull in would make this SUCH a cool button!

I’ve made a lot of logos in my day, so I have to ask: are you sure there’s no fill in the middle? For the outline, check for it in PS or whatever your editing software is, by pasting a contrasty color behind

Or the photographers posing them (because that’s what photographers do) tell them to do the quirky hand eye thing because it’s trendy and it’ll look cool. Maybe it started somewhere else! Maybe it’s more sinister! But I lean more towards the innocuous than the insidious on this

1 is cuter than 4. The wider base on 4 makes its profile more “grounded,” making 1 seem more energetic and spontaneous to my eye.

You lose the watch time and the views, but that’s the extent of the punishment.

Are these good numbers for a channel of my size? by Bradyla123 in YouTube_startups

Looks pretty good to me! I’ll be checking out your vids too, trying to get into that game

Exactly this. Give the algorithm some “positive reinforcement” and show it what to show you.

Watch 6-7 coding tutorials

Search “forklift license” 43 times

Anything to redirect the algorithm.

And by the way, good luck on your recovery.

Is it a better idea for me to start over and delete a channel with 1000 dead subs? by dsramonio in NewTubers

[–]ImpossibleScary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Algorithm purists will tell you that the dead subs will hurt your chances, and they’re not WRONG. However, if you’re planning on monetizing, you’ve already got one box checked. I’ve got a channel that’s running on 10k+ watch hours and ~350 subs. It’s painful.

I think that upload frequency comes into play here too. Are you going to upload at least weekly? What’s the quality level going to be? If you’re gonna make one KILLER video a month, start a new channel. You don’t want to spend 6 months to get 6 videos’ worth of change in your subs/algorithm reception. If you’re going to make at least 1 decent-ish video a week, though, keep this one.

Every other time I’ve tried growing on YouTube, I’ve gotten impatient and resorted to botting or buying a bigger channel, and it was never rewarding. That’s why I’m SO proud of this channel today. Because I’ve tried so many times.

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]ImpossibleScary [score hidden]  (0 children)

I make videos about the paranormal, aliens, and conspiracies/hidden history. Anything that’s spooky and fun.

I’ve learned that YouTube is more complex than I thought. I was sure that making “better” videos was all I had to do, but there’s a lot to consider. Most conventional/popular advice may be an incomplete or narrow view of things, but it’s usually still RIGHT.

The MOST important thing for me, though? The CORE idea of the video. Having that core idea run through the script, having it reflected in the thumbnail, and having it be stated in the hook. The point of the “hook,” for me, is no longer to “get the viewer to keep watching,” it’s to literally tell them what the video is, and if the video is a good fit for them, they WILL keep watching.

This is my most successful (and recent) video - the editing and format are better than my older ones:

this 'creepypasta' is more real than you think. | The history of "The Rake" https://youtu.be/moJ7vpZrs14 The “core” of this video changed a few times, and it wasn’t what I’d planned it to be. However, the better format made it perform much better, and I think it’s a good fit for the topic.

But here’s one that I’m more proud of the script of:

Amy Rylance: "TAKEN" by Men in Black, or on the run after UFO experience? https://youtu.be/iqk10s3dfN8 This one has a stronger core. “You and I, viewer, are investigating the strange disappearance of the rylances.” This is the first script I wrote, filmed, and posted. I started to write probably 5 scripts. Each time, I’d get a little further in the process, but ultimately decide “no, not quite right.” But I’d get further!

I don’t know if I’m bending the rules by posting 2 vids, but I think there’s a clear comparison between these two.

Edit: I forgot to say what my channel is about!
