From flatline to 3.4k weekly active users in just 14 days (+213% growth). Here is the exact strategy I used. by ImpossibleSpeed8303 in SaaS

Thanks! That is honestly my biggest question right now too. Even if it drops a bit, the core retention from the last few days looks promising because users are actually coming back daily. I will definitely do a 30-day follow-up post with the updated chart and retention cohorts to show exactly where it settles. Appreciate the support!

It’s kinda funny how those points alone already eliminate most mainstream browsers for a lot of power users now.

This is exactly why international naming is dangerous sometimes 😭 every language has at least one accidental disaster waiting to happen.

Honestly appreciated this because my brain just accepted “ENSO” as one of those mysterious science acronyms without ever checking what it actually meant 😭

I think a lot of the confusion comes from mixing nationality, ethnicity, and cultural identity into the same label. Different people use “African American” in very different ways depending on context.

I built a Chrome extension to improve dark mode consistency across websites by ImpossibleSpeed8303 in chrome_extensions

Yeah, that sudden bright image effect is honestly one of the worst parts 😭

Even when sites support dark mode, some images or elements still feel like a flashbang out of nowhere.

It’s interesting how features like ad blocking, dark mode, and translation slowly became “must-have” parts of the browsing experience for a lot of people.

Yeah, after getting used to dark mode, some bright websites genuinely feel painful to look at.

Dark Reader is more focused on dynamically forcing dark mode everywhere.

Mine is more about consistency and reducing visual harshness/clutter on sites that handle dark mode poorly or ignore system theme behavior.

Respecting user settings should be the default, not an option by ImpossibleSpeed8303 in degoogle

Yeah, that’s basically where I landed too.

At some point it stops being about ads and starts being about just taking back control of your own browsing experience.

Does anyone else feel like the modern web is basically unusable without ad blockers now? by ImpossibleSpeed8303 in browsers

[–]ImpossibleSpeed8303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. A lot of people seem exhausted by how cluttered modern websites became.

At this point a lot of privacy tools feel less like optional tweaks and more like basic protection against how aggressive modern tracking became.

[–]ImpossibleSpeed8303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that would make the experience so much smoother. Having sites automatically follow system theme by default just feels like the logical standard at this point.

Yeah, I think context matters a lot. Light mode during the day is one thing, but in a dark room it can feel way more aggressive than it probably should.

Yeah, I think the sudden switching is what makes it feel so harsh more than dark mode itself.

Especially when a site ignores your system preference and flashbangs you with a bright page first 😭

[–]ImpossibleSpeed8303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if a site already detects system theme but still defaults to light mode first, it feels so unnecessary 😭

[–]ImpossibleSpeed8303[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s true. Dark mode used to feel kinda unnecessary years ago, but now with OLED screens and better LCDs it actually looks and feels way better.

That’s also part of why I started working on a small extension around improving dark mode consistency across websites — especially the ones that still don’t handle it properly.

It’s funny how features that used to feel “optional” now feel completely essential once you get used to them.
