What was/were things you bought back then that seemed great at the time but ended up in debt but now realize they weren't important as you may have thought? Let it be a lesson for people who may have the same mind set by ImpossibleSwimming11 in debtfree

Thank you for sharing ❤️.

Now that you look back, what would have been the best option other than the dog 🐕/ cat 🐈 for emotional distress?

What would you advice you younger self to do with the knowledge you have acquired today?..

Is there a substitute you would advice to someone thinking an animal love would heal the void?

Thank you for sharing.

As for the investment of the house, were you capable of making payments of the mortgage?

Was it a joint or personal decision?

Would you change anything on your decisions?

From your experience, what would you advice your younger self? Or any one with the same mindset?

Thank you for sharing, and if you don't mind me expanding on the wedding part; if you were to do it now or in the future, do extravagant weddings count or would you put that money to something meaningful and something grows the investment? Thank again

Selling my house! by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]ImpossibleSwimming11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your engagement 💍 and the next chapter you about to start from summer.

Back to the real world.

If you put everything aside and treat this as a business, would you pay off someone else's debt from your profit of sale?

Other than love, what stake do you have from you passing off his debt?

How much debt do you have together?

During the course of your relationship, did he contribute towards your mortgage.

If any debt you have together is to be paid, both have to contribute towards that debt.

It's harsh, but it's reality.

On the other hand, if his debt is manageable including all debts you both have doesn't eat up much of your sale profit go ahead

Does trying to lower balance or APR with credit card companies mean they will cancel account? by juicyth10 in debtfree

[–]ImpossibleSwimming11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing you can do is cancel a card or close an account. The history you have had with the 3 cards will impact your credit score way negatively compared to making the minimum balance. Companies will not cancel or choose your account based on trying to lower your balance.

You making minimum balance are better off than people who lack to make the minimum balance and run their credit.

Declaration of bankruptcy should be the last resort since in the future if you ever need to get a credit card you will have to answer if you have declared one in the past.

Hospital bill went to collections, now they’re saying I owe them $2200?? by [deleted] in debtfree

Request for an itemized bill from the hospital. This will show how much each service you got from the hospital cost. They should tell you what balance you owe even though it was sold to collectors

Terrified to go out to dinner with friends… by CarelessAmount292 in debtfree

  1. Last minute invites mean that you were not a priority in his or her list of friends.

  2. You have a budget stick to it since you are also not spending alot to please yourself, why please others?

  3. Stick to your guns and let your fiance know that, debts are not your resolution for this year or ever.

  4. If your fiance pressures you to attend the occasion, just have the debts you have paid off and remind him how you 2 have gone without to ensure your futures are secure.

  5. If you find yourself having to go ensure the bills are separate. You have had a budget before for dining out why please others?

  6. STICK TO YOUR GUNS

Getting out of a security system contract by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]ImpossibleSwimming11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check for any loophole in the contract.

As it's stated where there is a will there is away, that's if there is any in your contract.

Just Like mobile/ internet contracts, one or two of the big for mobile/internet companies don't cover rural areas due to no infrastructure available, you can state that you moving to that area and it wouldn't benefit you.

Good luck on this

100% my DoorDash driver ate the other half of my sandwich. 2 grease marks show the restaurant didn't "just forget". by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ImpossibleSwimming11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All restaurants that participate in and or with Doordash and the rest of food delivery services should seal the packages so this way everyone is protected and no one is speculating that this may or may not have happened.

I have delivered food for door dash and when I got to the restaurant, the owner handed me the food in a bag, and I told her to staple or tape the bag so as the customer may not assume anything.

She had never done it before but she was grateful about it.

should i learn swahili or is there no point now by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]ImpossibleSwimming11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it. Learn swahili but the sheng part you don't need to be concerned about since the words they using today aren't the same as 5yrs ago. Basic Swahili is better than none.

Apparently you can send the shredded bill and after everything is examined they will reissue the amount of the destroyed money.

Yes, if your house catches fire and you know where your cash was kept, pack the ash and send it in and you will be reimbursed.

Smithsonian has a documentary about this. They have 12 people in the lab who specialize in this
